What The Rosso Twins Are Up To Now

There's absolutely no shortage of child stars who seemingly appeared in a ton of projects, and then just disappeared. All those adorable kids who starred in movies or television shows when they were younger — think Macaulay Culkin or Mara Wilson – stopped acting eventually, and some former child stars have even stopped appearing in public altogether. Take, for instance, the Rosso twins. Camilla and Rebecca Rosso, or Milly and Becky as they preferred to be called, appeared in quite a few noteworthy films and television shows before they threw in the towel permanently. The twin blonde beauties were known for their luscious locks and adorable accents, so where did they go?

As it turns out, figuring out what the Rosso twins are up to now is quite difficult. The girls haven't done much notable public work in years, and in all honesty, it kind of looks like they fell off of the map entirely. Whatever the case, though, in order to understand what's really up with the Rosso twins, you have to go back and look at their career from beginning to end, because it's complicated.

The Rosso Twins are originally from England

If you've ever seen the Rosso twins act, then you know that they speak with a British accent. And while Camilla and Rebecca Rosso obviously lived in America while they were acting and working, they're originally from England, something they were especially proud of.

In an interview with Kidz World, Becky explained that she and her sister really enjoyed the experience of living in both England and the United States. "We've lived in Los Angeles for about 3 and a half years," she said in the 2009 chat. "We love America! We love the weather in California and everyone's been so friendly to us, but we do miss our family and friends in England, so we go back every summer when we can."

Becky also added that the two didn't have too hard of a time adjusting to life in America, as there weren't a lot of changes. "We have school, homework, we go and see a movie at the weekend with our friends, and we go to the shopping mall in both places," she continued, though she did note that Americans don't drink nearly as much tea as English people do.

The Rosso twins rose to fame because of this Disney Channel original series

If you watched the Disney Channel during the mid-to-late 2000s, then you probably watched The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The series followed twins Zack and Cody as they lived in a high-end hotel with their single mother. The show was largely focused on the twin boys, but soon, two new characters made an appearance: British twin girls, played by none other than the Rosso twins.

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody truly launched the Rosso twins' careers, but the way that happened is interesting. In an interview with Kidz World, Camilla Rosso explained how they got their start. "We went to a live taping of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody which is open to the public, [and] we were discovered by chance, by the executive producer of the show," she said.

The producer asked the girls to audition, and the rest is history. "We took acting lessons for several months and we auditioned to be on one episode, and they liked how we played the characters, so they put us in seven episodes!" Milly recalled. Hey, it was meant to be!

The Rosso twins had to deal with misconceptions about twins

Despite their relative fame and fortune, the Rosso twins didn't always have it easy. In fact, growing up as identical twins proved pretty difficult for both Camilla and Rebecca Rosso. The reason? They had to deal with misconceptions about twins, and it sometimes got to be almost painful for them.

As Milly told Kidz World in an interview, "A common misconception about twins is that all twins can sometimes think and feel what the other is thinking and feeling, but we've never experienced that!" Additionally, Milly recalled some times when she and Becky were almost belittled just for being twins. "Also, one downside to being a twin is that some people have been mean to us because we're twins," she continued. "They say twins creep them out and identical twins make them feel uncomfortable, almost like clones!"

Obviously, the Rosso twins made the best of being twins by landing acting roles and launching an impressive career at such a young age, so anyone with misconceptions about twins was proven wrong.

The Rosso twins even starred in a "Legally Blonde" spinoff

Because the Rosso twins had their big break on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, it didn't take long for Camilla and Rebecca Rosso to take their talents to the big screen. In 2009, they got to star in a spinoff of the beloved Reese Witherspoon flick Legally Blonde, Legally Blondes. The movie was obviously a big deal for both Milly and Becky, as it marked their first film as well as their first big roles since The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

And in an interview with Kidz World, Milly explained that they were so excited to work on the film. "Legally Blondes is about Elle Woods' British twin cousins, Izzy and Annie Woods, who we play, who move from England with their dad, and they go to a really posh prep school in California on a Scholarship," she shared.

Though the movie wasn't exactly a smashing success, it was still a big deal for the Rosso twins, and made it appear as though their acting career was about to take off.

The Rosso twins got to meet Reese Witherspoon

Even though Legally Blondes was a spinoff of Legally Blonde, and was even produced by Reese Witherspoon — who's undergone a stunning transformation — the movie didn't actually feature Witherspoon in it. But, while the Rosso twins were working on Legally Blondes, it wouldn't be too shocking if they were dying to meet the original blonde bombshell herself. And fortunately for them, they did.

As Rebecca Rosso explained in an interview with Kidz World, Witherspoon was just as lovely as you would imagine. "Before we started filming we had lunch with her," she recalled. "We were not disappointed when we met her because she is so friendly and chatty!" She added that Witherspoon was caring and kind, and that they were honored to work with her.

Camilla Rosso added that Witherspoon also sent them cookies and a sweet note to help ease their nerves before filming. Getting to meet and work with Reese Witherspoon is most actors' dream, so what happened after Legally Blondes wrapped was even more confusing.

The Rosso twins' acting careers came to a sudden halt

Back in the late 2000s, it truly looked like the Rosso twins were on the brink of making it big in Hollywood. The pair landed some great acting roles, and all seemed well. Until it just stopped.

It's honestly unclear why, exactly, the Rosso twins quit acting. But one look at their respective IMDb pages and it becomes obvious that their last-ever acting role was in The Suite Life on Deck. Both Rebecca and Camilla Rosso made a one-episode guest appearance in the show, which was a spinoff of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody

However, in an interview with Kidz World, Milly explained that they were already working on a project after Legally Blondes. "We are going to film a pilot for Disney Channel this summer, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that it will be picked up and made into a series," she said. Whatever that pilot was, it obviously didn't get picked up, and the Rosso twins' acting careers came to a sudden halt.

The Rosso twins were wise beyond their years

Whatever was going on in the Rosso twins' professional lives after they filmed their final episode of The Suite Life on Deck and wrapped on Legally Blondes, the two still grew up a lot. In fact, Rebecca and Camilla Rosso proved themselves to be wise beyond their years when they gave a 2009 interview with Portrait Magazine, and shared some solid advice for young girls everywhere.

When asked what they would tell young girls who compare themselves to the people in magazines, Camilla Rosso said something very wise. "I would tell them to remind themselves that these perfect people you see in magazines have had a lot of help with hair, makeup, and lighting and that nobody's that perfect in real life," she explained. "It's actually more important that you're a good person on the inside because you can't fake that!"

For young, teenage girls, the Rosso twins had a pretty good grasp on self-esteem and not holding yourself to anyone else's standards but your own.

The Rosso twins started a girl band after acting

Perhaps one of the reasons why the Rosso twins stopped acting was because they wanted to launch a different type of career — specifically, a music career. In their interview with Kidz World, Camilla Rosso explained that music was something they both really wanted to pursue. "Right now, we're recording demos and working with Andre Recke, who has worked with Hilary Duff since Lizzie McGuire," she said. "We had a great time recording the song and we've always loved singing and dancing, so we hope to record an album in the future!" she added.

And release more music they did. According to Distractify, the Rosso twins with their sisters Lola and Georgina Rosso started a girl group, The Rosso Sisters. The group was signed by Capital Records and represented by the Jonas Brothers' father. Clearly, they were on track to success and their single, "Hola Hola" was a smash hit on Radio Disney.

The Rosso twins started to prioritize their music careers over acting, and really put their all into The Rosso Sisters.

The Rosso Sisters disbanded for the saddest reason

The Rosso Sisters toured Latin America with Demi Lovato – who's undergone a stunning transformation — and opened for her during her 2014 Neon Lights tour (via Distractify). Really, their musical careers were just started to take off when tragedy struck the Rosso family, and they disbanded for the saddest reason.

In a 2015 Instagram post on The Rosso Sister's page, they shared the devastating reason why they were stepping away from music. "We are so incredibly heartbroken and devastated that our beautiful mom Anthea passed away after fighting an extremely tough battle with pancreatic cancer," the girls wrote alongside a picture of their mother. "After much thought and consideration, we have decided not to carry on with our girl group and making music, and to close this chapter in our lives."

Obviously, this couldn't have been an easy decision for anyone in the group, but the Rosso twins clearly needed to take a step back from the entertainment industry.

The Rosso twins reportedly are both married

Since the untimely passing of their mother in 2015, the Rosso twins haven't done anything else of note in the entertainment industry. However, that dean't mean that their personal lives haven't been thriving.

When The Rosso Sisters announced they were putting an end to their music career, they explained that in addition to the passing of their mother, there was another reason they called it quits. "We're soo sorry to anyone we're disappointing, but during these extremely difficult past few months, our hopes and dreams for the future have changed," they wrote on Instagram. And for Camilla and Rebecca Rosso, those dreams for the future might have included starting their own families.

Yes, it appears as though both of the Rosso twins have married. According to TV Over Mind, Rebecca Rosso got married in 2018 to a man named Ben and had all of her sisters as bridesmaids. Camilla Rosso also tied the knot in 2018, proving that the Rosso twins truly do have a pretty special twin connection.

The Rosso twins have basically disappeared from the public eye

Though the Rosso twins once had a promising acting career as well as a solid start in the music business with their girl group, The Rosso Sisters, the twins have basically been off the radar since 2015. Yes, seriously. While reports have stated that both Camilla and Rebecca Rosso tied the knot in 2018, and were in each others' weddings, they really haven't been active on social media to share their lives with their fans.

In fact, the Rosso twins have essentially abandoned their careers in the entertainment industry and have seemingly gone on to live normal, happy lives (via J-14). Whether or not they made a conscious decision to back away from the public eye forever remains to be seen.

The only thing that's certain is that as far as most of the world is concerned, Becky and Milly Rosso only exist in their private lives. For all anyone knows, they could both be mothers by now, or have launched new and exciting careers outside Hollywood. Whatever the case, they remain a mystery, which might just be what they wanted.
