The New 2021 Candy Flavors You Need To Know About
Okay, we know; eating healthy is important and all, but sometimes, while you're binging the latest movie or addictive Netflix show, you need something sweet to snack on. 2020 has been a crazy year, and many of us haven't been able to enjoy our usual movie theater candy in an actual theater, we've all done a fair job at finding an excuse to indulge at home. And everyone's favorite candy indulgence is different, although according to a 2019 Monmouth University study, the most popular candy in the US is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, followed by Snickers in second place, then M&Ms in third.
But even though most of us have loved our candy staples since we were children, there's always room to discover a new favorite, and candy manufacturers are counting on our love of our favorite sweet snacks to inspire us to try new and different spins on the classics. Here are a few upcoming 2021 candy releases that we have to try.
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups with Pretzels
True story: a few years ago, we dreamed we were eating peanut butter cups with pretzels on the bottom. Now, Reese's has announced the upcoming release of its Peanut Butter Cups with pretzel pieces inside. Sure, it would be cool if our prophetic dreams could predict lottery numbers, but this is cool, too! Think those amazing peanut butter filled pretzels, but inside out. And covered in chocolate. Yum! While the original Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were invented by Harry Burnett Reese nearly a century ago, the company hasn't tired of releasing new and different varieties of the delightfully simple treat since. We've had white chocolate, dark chocolate, giant sized, bite sized, and pumpkin-shaped varieties just to name a few!
The new pretzel-filled type of Reese's may be available at a store near you already, as they candy was slated for a November 2020 release date, but if you are hoping for the ever-poppable mini version that's oh-so-conducive to movie snacking, you'll have to wait for January 2021.
Snickers Peanut Brownie Squares
With Snickers taking the silver medal in the favorite-candy-race, it's no surprise the maker of this classic candy is set to release another new variety to the Snickers-loving masses. The new treat, called Snickers Peanut Brownie Squares, takes the classic candy and replaces the nougat center with a chewy chocolate brownie layer, while maintaining the chocolate-covered, caramel-filled, peanut-y goodness of the original (via Candy Industry). Ummm....yum! The little kid inside us fondly remembering nut-filled brownies our moms used to make are already having cravings. We have a feeling this version will do just as good a job at satiating fans' hunger as their famous commercials suggest the brand is made to do.

M&Ms Mix
As we told you above, the third-favorite candy in America is the convenient, bite-sized, crunchy-then-creamy M&Ms, but the variety of M&Ms you love most? There are too many to choose from! We're partial to peanut butter ourselves, but what about peanut? Or the satisfying crunch of the crispy ones? And let's not forget the classically smooth original milk chocolate.
