90 Day Fiance's Chantel Sparks Backlash After Birthday Photos
After a few quiet months on social media, Chantel Jimeno is going all out for her 30th birthday. Over the last few days, the 90 Day Fiancé and The Family Chantel star shared dozens of Instagram snaps from a celebratory girls trip to Cancun, Mexico, and she's getting a lot of heat from followers for traveling and doing unmasked activities during the pandemic.
The group of six is staying at The Grand at Moon Palace resort in Cancun, and have spent time at the pool, on the beach, at a speakeasy bar, and on a cruise boat with at least a dozen other people (most of whom had their masks down in one video). Under an Instagram photo of the whole group posing in swimsuits, one follower commented, "Covid central." Another wrote, "And we wonder why we are in a year long pandemic." Others asked, "Isn't there a pandemic happening?" and "I guess there isn't a pandemic in Mexico?"
Jimeno hasn't responded to criticisms
Jimeno hasn't directly responded to any of her haters ... yet. She's too busy enjoying her vacation, which her friends apparently surprised her with as a gift. "Thank you for surprising me for my Birthday," she captioned one photo. "I laughed so much and had so much fun."
It's possible that she's unconcerned by the criticisms because she's a nurse, and according to ScreenRant, she shared clips of herself getting vaccinated — presumably for COVID — on her Jan. 5 Instagram Story. The caption reportedly referenced the viral "I Did It" TikTok sound. "I got vaccinated," she wrote. @90DayFianceNow on Instagram re-shared the clip.
According to Soap Dirt, Jimeno graduated nursing school in December 2019. It's unclear how long she's worked in the medical field or if she continues to now. But because her latest TLC venture has not yet been renewed, per ScreenRant, she may need the career to fall back on.
