Biden's Town Hall Comment Reveals How He Feels About Trump Right Now
President Joe Biden has been in office for close to a month now, but he's still having to struggle with the controversial legacies that his predecessor Donald Trump left behind. So it's not surprising that during a CNN Town Hall in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while taking a question on raising the minimum wage, Biden ended up expressing how he really felt about being asked about POTUS 45. Biden said, "I'm tired of talking about Donald Trump. I don't want to talk about him anymore" (via Twitter).
The initial comment, which was amplified across social media, picked up several thousand tweets across different accounts, many of whom echoed President Biden's sentiments. One user tweeted: "If there were awards for tweets, this should be the pinned tweet of the year." Another social media user said: "81M people just collectively deep sighed in agreement."
Biden: The next four years should be about the American people
But that wasn't the last of it. Biden then noted that the last four years had been about Trump, and continued, saying, "The next four years I want to make sure all the news is the American people. I'm tired of talking about Trump. It's done" (via Twitter).
The Town Hall wasn't all about discussing the previous administration. The president addressed a whole range of other questions that covered his administration's proposed COVID-19 relief package, the proposed $15 minimum wage and its impact on small business; he also identified domestic terrorism as the greatest threat to the country. He also promised that his administration would focus on how to deal with the rise of white supremacy (via Twitter).
But would he instruct the Justice Department to go after specific individuals? Biden had an answer for that: "I will not ever tell my DOJ, and it's not mine, it's the people's Justice Department, who they should and should not prosecute," he said (via Twitter).
