Bridgerton Star Regé-Jean Page Is Worth More Than You Think

If you've spent your days in lockdown binge-watching Netflix, then you've probably stumbled across the platform's frustratingly romantic period drama, Bridgerton. (If you haven't watched it yet, you definitely should.) Though the Regency-era series is still young, it premiered on Christmas Day (via IndieWire), it's garnered quite a bit of attention. Not only did the American Film Institute award Bridgerton a spot on its Top 10 TV Programs of the Year (via The American Film Institute), but the series also received two Screen Actors Guild award nominations (via IMDb), one of which was earned by the show's dashing Duke of Hastings as played by actor Regé-Jean Page.

Since the premiere, thousands of viewers have kept their eyes on Page. (And who could blame them? The man is gorgeous!) Some have even wondered if he's the "next 007" (via The National News). With an estimated net worth of $1.5 million (via Life & Style) and glowing remarks from the series' producer, Shonda Rhimes (via People), who knows where Page's career might take him.

Who is Rege-Jean Page?

Regé-Jean Page may play a lead role now, but as with most thespians, it didn't start out that way. In fact, Page started his acting career on stage in The History Boys at the Sheffield Crucible (via IMDb). He also appeared in a variety of films and television shows, including the award-winning miniseries Roots (he played the role of Chicken George) and For the People (via PopSugar). He even made a very quick, few-second appearance in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I as a guest at Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour's wedding (via PureWow).

Now, Page is ready for more prominent roles though. In fact, it was just announced this week that the breakout Bridgerton star has joined the cast of Paramount Pictures' Dungeons & Dragons, where he'll act alongside Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Justice Smith (via Deadline). What's more, he'll cap off his week by bringing his debonair presence to SNL in just a few days. Regé-Jean Page is scheduled to make his Saturday Night Live debut on Feb. 20 (via Harper's Bazaar); he'll be joined by musical guest Bad Bunny.
