90 Day Fiance: Minty Has Some Thoughts About Tarik And Hazel's Relationship
Let's be real: 90 Day Fiancé is quite possibly one of the best things to ever happen to reality television. The long-running series, which first premiered on TLC in 2014, is currently in its eighth season — and may be the show's most dramatic season yet!
While fans were introduced to four new couples this season, one of the three returning couples that fans have been keeping a close eye on are Tarik and Hazel, whose journey was originally documented on Season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. The pair met on a dating site, and after Tarik visited her in the Philippines for the first time in 2018, he popped the question right then and there.
As fans know, nearly three years later, Tarik and Hazel have had their fair share of ups and downs. After Tarik and Hazel broke up for a short period of time, Tarik revealed he had a fling with a woman named Minty, who is originally from Thailand. Obviously, Hazel and Tarik reconciled, and Hazel — who revealed she is bisexual — was intrigued with the idea of including Minty in their relationship (via US Weekly).
That fantasy was short-lived, though, and there's been drama between the throuple ever since
After the threesome briefly met up in the Philippines, Tarik admitted (via US Weekly), "Hazel felt like Minty was more into me than she was into Hazel, and Hazel could see I was just fascinated by Minty." Hazel called things off with Minty about three days after meeting.
In the latest episode, which aired on Feb. 28, Tarik and Hazel continue their search for a girlfriend, and Tarik pressures Hazel to hope on a video call with Minty — because she "knows them best" — and to say the call is uncomfortable is a bit of an understatement. In a separate confessional, Minty tells the cameras that she doesn't exactly believe that Hazel and Tarik's relationship will work out.
"If Tarik was not engaged to Hazel, I think we would be together," Minty admits (via TV Insider). "I think if Tarik is with any woman, Hazel will be jealous. If they get married, I don't think they will be happily ever after."
Fans were quick to react to the awkward interaction between Hazel, Tarik, and Minty
And they had no problem calling out Tarik for his behavior, with one Twitter fan alleging that Tarik doesn't seem like he's even interested in having a romantic relationship with Hazel. "It seems as if Tarik wants Hazel as the housekeeper, nanny and wife and Minty has [sic] his lover and relationship partner!!!" the fan wrote.
Another 90 Day Fiancé fan echoed that sentiment, writing, "Tarik had a bad breakup with Minty and Hazel hates her, but Tarik thinks it's a great idea to ask Minty how to find them a girlfriend? It sounds like Tarik wants Minty back!"
If there's one thing that's certain between these three, it's that viewers are undoubtedly in for a wild and drama-filled ride for the rest of the season.
