Jessica Szohr's Post Supporting Hilary Duff Is A Throwback To That Gossip Girl Scene
Gossip Girl (deemed "The Greatest Show Of Our Time" by New York Magazine) gave fans a number of memorable lines, such as "Three words. Eight letters. Say it and I'm yours." Not to mention the simple, but chilling "I killed someone." Sometimes the episodes are complete works of art. Spoiler alert: Can you believe Gossip Girl was Dan Humphrey all along?
But there is one scene that will be etched into the brains of millennials forever, and that's that famous threesome scene. Set to Anya Marina's cover of T.I.'s "Whatever You Like," the scene finds Dan (portrayed by Penn Badgley) and Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr) helping Vanessa's roommate and Dan's girlfriend and Hollywood "It" girl Olivia Burke (played by Hilary Duff in a guest arc) by checking tasks off her college bucket list. Things, from there, somehow escalate into group sex.
As a fan wrote on Twitter, "Make no mistake- when I say 'millennials have just been through so much tragedy in our short little lives...' I am very much including the threesome episode of Gossip Girl."
One Gossip Girl alum supporting another
While the notorious threesome episode of Gossip Girl aired over 10 years ago in 2009, Jessica Szohr still takes the time to support her former co-star, Hilary Duff.
On March 3, Duff re-posted an Instagram Story of Szohr modeling one of the styles from Duff's latest collaboration with Smash + Tess. Szohr, who's wearing a pair of black overalls, wrote "Love, love, love," while Duff added a "Cool girl" sticker for extra effect.
In February 2021, Duff announced her new line for Smash + Tess – which features both clothing for women and toddlers. The online-exclusive line is available for pre-order and features sizes up to XXXL.
The singer-actress and her husband Matthew Koma are expecting a child. This will be their second kid together, alongside their daughter, Banks Bair. Duff also has a son, Luca Comrie, who she shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie (via People). Duff just wrapped the seventh and final season of Younger, which despite all of its cool fashion – and many New York-specific cameos and references – somehow does not take place in the same cinematic universe as Gossip Girl.
As for Szohr, she and longtime boyfriend Brad Richardson welcomed their daughter Bowie Ella Richardson to the world on January 11, 2021. The actress can also be seen starring in Season 2 of The Orville.
