Pippa Middleton's Mom Just Confirmed What Everyone Thought

Back in December, Page Six breathlessly reported that Pippa Middleton, sister of Kate, was expecting her second child with husband James Matthews. Middleton was reportedly "thrilled" to be expecting again, according to an insider close to the family. She gave birth to son Arthur in 2018, after marrying Matthews the previous year. A source advised, "it's fantastic news amid a difficult year. The entire family is delighted." The couple was even eyeing a move to the country.

However, in the intervening months, there's been absolutely no follow-up. Royal watchers have even started to wonder whether Middleton's second pregnancy announcement should be filed under fake news. And, with everything going on with Prince Philip's hospital stay, as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey, it kind of fell by the wayside. Thankfully, Pippa Middleton's own mother sets the record straight once and for all.

Carole Middleton is excited to meet her new grandchild

In a new interview with Good Housekeeping UK, while promoting her business, Party Pieces, Carole Middleton confirmed her younger daughter is indeed expecting once more. Looking to the coming year, she said, "I hope to see more of my family than I could last year, including, of course, my new grandchild," per Us Weekly. She's already grandmother to Arthur, of course, as well as Kate and Prince William's kids — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — who can all start looking forward to meeting their new cousin.

Proudly describing herself as a "hands-on" grandmother, Middleton enthused, "I want to run down the hills, climb the trees and go through the tunnel at the playground." She added, "As long as I am able to, that's what I'll be doing. I cook with them, I muck around dancing, we go on bike rides." According to Hello! magazine, Pippa was spotted strolling around London last weekend, with Arthur in tow, her growing baby bump concealed under a snug gray overcoat. Pippa Middleton and James Matthews have yet to confirm the happy news themselves.
