Who Is Bryson DeChambeau's Girlfriend?

As Bryson DeChambeau competes in the Masters this week, many will be looking to see if one person in particular will be cheering him on as he guns for the green jacket: his rumored girlfriend, Sophia Phalen Bertolami.

The two reportedly met shortly before the 2018 Ryder Cup. Interestingly, neither of them has ever publicly confirmed their relationship. Instead, there are just a few pictures of the two on Bertolami's Instagram.

Bertolami was not with him for the 2020 U.S. Open, but did congratulate him on his win, the first Major title of his career. "Biggest congratulations to this guy!!! Beyond proud of you, B! @brysondechambeau," she wrote (via The Sun).

So who is this mystery woman? According to The Sun, Bertolami graduated from Chapman University in Southern California in 2014 with a degree in kinesiology and nutrition. She continued her education at Belmont University in Nashville, where she studied pharmacology. Bertolami is also an Instagram model with more than 60,000 followers and even has her own swimwear line with La Isla, which caters to busty women (via La Isla). She also has a pet pig named Stella, who weighs more than 1,000 pounds, and is a staple on her Instagram. As Bertolami admits, she originally thought she had adopted a mini-pig.

Bryson and Sophia reportedly began seeing each other in 2018

Sophia Bertolami has been linked to other athletes before, including former MLB players Mike Napoli and Danny Muno (via Golf Monthly). As for Bryson DeChambeau, who has a degree in physics and been nicknamed "The Scientist" due to his scientific approach to the game (via The Washington Post), he has been very quiet about his private life. There are rumors that he had a serious high school sweetheart when he was in Clovis, California, but that they parted ways when he went to Southern Methodist University in Texas. (via Player Wives).

With their dedication to keeping things discreet, it's hard to tell whether DeChambeau and Bertolami are even still together (via Golf Monthly), and with no photos of them on her Instagram since 2018, it's anyone's guess. It will be interesting to see if Bertolami makes any appearances as DeChambeau attempts the next great moment of his golf career.
