The Real Reason 90 Day Fiance's Jason And Cassia Broke Up

Jason Hitch and Cassia Tavares were featured on Season 2 of "90 Day Fiancé." Like many couples on the show, they met online via a messaging platform and immediately decided to exchange numbers after their flirtation turned serious (via Screen Rant). Fans watched as they went down the K1 visa route, with Cassia leaving her home country of Brazil to make a new life in Florida, and the culture shock was real — not only because her fiancé lived with his father but also because he acted like an OAP (old age pensioner).

Jason lured his soon-to-be wife in with the promise of shopping sprees but instead brought her to auction sites where she was given a strict budget. The two seemed to be doing well and even started a cookie business, but life was not all it seemed (per The Ashley's Reality Roundup). So where are the couple today, and what exactly drove them apart, other than the usual "90 Day Fiancé" curse?

Jason and Cassia tried to reconcile

According to Starcasm, Cassia and Jason separated in 2017 and filed for divorce in April of 2018. He spoke with the outlet at the time, telling readers that he tried the best he could to make their relationship work, saying, "I tried everything last year to save whatever we thought we had," which included going to concerts and local events. But the life of a boring Floridian was not enough to satisfy the Brazilian beauty. At the time, the reality star mentioned that he felt like he was the only one working on their marriage.

But in a surprise twist, the couple tried to reconcile after their divorce was dismissed. But the second coming of wedded bliss didn't last long, as Radar Online shared that Jason filed for divorce a second time. He had been arrested for domestic battery against Cassia back in 2017, and it looked like neither one could get past the awful incident. According to the police report, the couple started arguing while in bed, and "Jason then grabbed Tavares by her left arm, leaving a mark and then pushed Rita off of the bed causing her to fall to the floor. Jason then began screaming at Tavares to the point Tavares was in fear and dialed 911 for law enforcement."

Cassia has moved on to greener pastures

Since their break-up after appearing on "90 Day Fiancé," Jason and Cassia have moved on from each other. She found love again with an Italian stallion (via Starcasm), and fans can understand her feelings, as she and her new beau have moved to the country of love, wine, and pasta. Cassia posted on her Instagram that she and Giuseppe had married down at the local courthouse. In a touching caption, she wrote, "Sadly, we couldn't do a bigger ceremony because of COVID. Also, his mom hasn't been feeling well for some days now, but she made an effort to be with us. Yet, today is a special day that we'll cherish forever. We went to a restaurant after and had lunch (Italian style) and a small cake!"

It looks like at least one-half of the former couple found their happily ever after, as Jason has stayed quiet since his marriage ended. Maybe, just maybe, we will see him back on a TLC spinoff.
