Jen Psaki's Comment About Her Future At The White House Is Turning Heads

Jen Psaki has had plenty of thoughts since she became White House press secretary. She thinks the journalists who cover the president will never be happy. "We're never going to satisfy the White House press corps and their desires for access," she said (via CNN). "And I think there have been mistakes made in the past of trying to do that." She also thinks the people she works with could still be suffering from some form of PTSD, triggered by the previous administration. "We're kind of still in recovery from the 'Game of Thrones' period of our history here ... some of what I think the job is in this moment ... is kind of reaffirming and restating like what the role of government is" (via CNN ).

But never did we expect that Psaki, who has become a star in the Biden White House, would be thinking about leaving after only a year in her role. However, as CNN reports, while she might love the challenge and the responsibility, she signed up for a limited time only. Psaki said as much herself in an interview with David Axelrod during his podcast "The Axe Files," telling him, "I think it's going to be time for somebody else to have this job, in a year from now or about a year from now."

Jen Psaki gave herself a year to work in the White House

Jen Psaki was widely praised as a breath of fresh air after Trump administration press secretaries Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kayleigh McEnany. At her first news conference, Psaki was clear about what her role would be, as well as the challenges that came with it (via The Wrap). As media veteran Don Martin tweeted at the time: "President Biden's press secretary Jen Psaki is a real life reincarnation of CJ Cregg of 'West Wing' television series fame. Impressive start. Personable, professional, factual. Been a while since we've seen that in the White House press briefing room."

By our count at least, Psaki still has a ways to go before she packs up her things, but that's not stopping social media from mourning over the future loss of the straight-talking spokesperson. "My heart is broken after hearing the news that Jen Psaki, one of the best White House press secretaries will be leaving her job this year," said one

"Ummm ... @PressSec is the best PS ever. Losing her will be heartbreaking," tweeted another

Jen Psaki's fans are now faced with two choices — enjoy the time they have left with her or start mourning the day she eventually leaves.
