Whatever Happened To Liz Evans From My 600-Lb Life?

Fans are hooked on TLC's "My 600-lb Life," following the journeys of obese people as they work with doctors to change their lives. One cast member viewers will never forget is Season 6's Liz Evans, who brought heartbreaking emotional baggage in her fight to lose weight and have the lymphedema on her legs removed (via The Sun). Confronting trauma, the bedridden Liz worked to shed pounds and gain her mobility back, inspiring millions. But Liz's story appeared back in 2018, so it's no wonder viewers are wondering what happened to the TLC star, and if she's still on track in her weight loss journey.

Liz first appeared on the show weighing 721 pounds, unable to walk in 10 years, and suffering from other medical issues. Living in Texas with her ill mother, Liz spoke about devastating trauma stemming from undergoing sexual abuse at 6 years old from a relative and dealing with her father's drug addiction (via The Cinemaholic). Moreover, Liz was born with a birth defect making one leg bone curve out, isolating her as a child. On the show, Liz  described, "I remember taking all that pain, and starting to run to food" (via Heavy).

Once on "My 600-lb Life," Liz took charge of her future, consulting with Dr. Now to shed the pounds. However, lymphedema left her unable to stand up, which is a requirement for gastric bypass and lymphedema growth surgery. Following a strict diet and physical therapy, Liz finally got the operation done.

Here's everything we know about Liz Evans' life now

After working hard on her diet and exercise regime, Liz Evans was able to undergo gastric bypass surgery and have a lymphedema mass on her leg removed (via The Sun). By the end of her storyline on "My 600-lb Life," she lost a whopping total of 353 pounds, with a final weigh-in at 368 pounds. As proud as ever about her accomplishments, Liz was well on her way to achieving her weight loss goals.

However, as reported by The Cinemaholic, Liz regained 50 pounds once returning to her home in Houston and began binge eating once again. The TLC cast member was readmitted to her medical team, who helped her finally become mobile. After the setback, Liz came back stronger, beginning to walk again with the help of a cane.

Although Liz is not active on social media, she appeared on "My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now" and spoke about how "old fears are about to threaten her progress." That being said, she mentioned she is attending regular therapy sessions, sticking to Dr. Now's program, and working on herself, so we just hope she's on track and finding her happiness!
