Expert Noticed Meghan Markle Do This Notable Thing In Her First Appearance Since Oprah

A couple of months have passed since Meghan Markle's infamous tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. Now, visibly pregnant, Meghan Markle has returned to TV for the first time in an appearance for "VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World." Meghan spoke of the importance of empowering women around the world, so they would have a chance to bounce back from the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

During her pre-recorded appearance, Markle referenced the fact that she and her husband Prince Harry were both excited by the prospect about having a baby girl. "It's a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world. When we think of her, we think of all the young women and girls around the globe who must be given the ability and the support to lead us forward," she said (via People).

She added that "Their future leadership depends on the decisions we make and the actions we take now to set them up, and set all of us up, for a successful, equitable, compassionate tomorrow. We want to make sure that as we recover, we recover stronger. That as we rebuild, we rebuild together."

Meghan Markle appeared to be nervous

Meghan Markle wowed many with her look: a red dress by Carolina Herrera (price tag: $1690) and designer jewelry. She delivered her message with a voice and body language that expressed confidence, according to body language expert Blanca Cobb. "In the video, Meghan sounds confident; her voice strong," Cobb told The List. "While talking, she smiles, moves her head and uses her eyebrows to highlight what she's saying. There's limited movement of her arms and hands. She has her hands folded neatly on her lap, or her fingers interlaced with her arms by her side. Her arm placement reminds of a modified version of a ballet arm movement, where the arms are by your side and hands pointed toward each other."

But it's what Markle isn't saying that Cobb picked up on. "Even though Meghan sounds confident, her thumbs reveal that she's feeling nervous. Her left thumb rubs above and below her right thumb, which is a way to soothe herself," Cobb said, describing a moment we all get to see about 30 seconds into her message. And that moment may have given away more than Markle intended. "When you feel nervous, your body will find a way to relieve the tension. One way is by rubbing, caressing, or touching another part of your body to comfort yourself," Cobb said.

Meghan Markle had no reason to be nervous

There is another time when Markle shifts slightly, but Cobb told The List that may simply have to do with her condition. "At one point, her right leg bounces ever so slightly. There are a few possibilities here. Perhaps she's readjusting her position because of sitting too long or because of her pregnancy. During pregnancy, a woman can get uncomfortable and will shift positions to feel better. Or, maybe, her body released any nervousness."

In truth, Meghan Markle had no reason to have been nervous, because her fans took to Instagram to express their admiration for the Duchess of Sussex. "Meghan I wish you the love and happiness, your impact to the world, women especially women of colour we admire you, we love love love love love you. You and Harry are luck to find one another you both very good human being that of the world have more people like yous then things could have been much better but now that the world have yous it is going to be a better place for generations to come much love," one fan wrote on Instagram.

Fans were enchanted by Meghan Markle's choice of seating

Another echoed a similar sentiment on the same Instagram thread, writing, "It never ceases to amaze me, she is an incredible woman, her eyes reflect peace, trust, dedication, passion ... the same eyes that I saw in her interview as a child and I understood that she was genuine, compassionate and a good human been. GOD bless her and guide her way to all the things she was born to do."

Viewers who watched the pre-recorded message weren't just drawn to what Meghan Markle was doing or saying — they were also looking at where she was sitting. Eagle-eyed fans think the wooden bench may be the same one that Markle used as an inspiration for her children's book, "The Bench."

"OH MY GOD. Meghan is sitting on THE BENCH!!!" a fan of the Duchess of Sussex squealed on social media. Another wrote, "I wonder if the bench was a gift for his [Harry's] first Father's Day, with the poem? Beautiful gift, to be used and cherished for years to come."
