What Bethany Stout From My 600-Lb Life Is Doing Today

"My 600-lb Life" definitely puts the "real" in "reality TV," showcasing the stories of people whose lives have been so impacted by their weight it's sometimes left them unable to work, move around, or even wash. With the help of master surgeon Dr. Now and his super-strict diet and exercise plan, participants hope to lose enough weight to qualify for surgery so they can finally move forward and achieve the quality of life they so desperately want and need. Often, things work out great.

However, certain participants, such as Bethany Stout, find the process too difficult and exit "My 600-lb Life" without completing the program. As Starcasm notes, while appearing on Season 8 of the hit show, Stout worked successfully with Dr. Now for eight months, ultimately dropping down from 608 pounds to 496. However, just a couple of months later, she was above 500 pounds again and ultimately quit the process after growing increasingly frustrated.

What's the healthcare worker up to now?

The former reality star made an incredible life change

As The Cinemaholic notes, following her stint on "My 600-lb Life," medical professional Bethany Stout returned home determined to lose weight by herself. And she succeeded, dropping a considerable amount judging by her Instagram. Reports suggest Stout lost a remarkable 150 pounds thanks to everything she learned from Dr. Now. She keeps two regular Facebook accounts running, one of which provides personal updates on her journey while the other, Parenting In Progress, is all about childcare, as the name suggests. According to a post on her personal Facebook page from March 2021 she's still working in healthcare, too. Stout wrote, "Ready for work in my size 18 jeans down from size 38 wearing my man's size medium white tee under my xl work shirt."

She added, "We are all happy and healthy and loving our new life," which certainly seems to be the case. The "My 600-lb Life" star faced significant criticism from viewers after her episode initially aired, as Starcasm advises, but seems to have plenty of fans rallying behind her now that she is out of the woods with her weight loss. Given her positive attitude and incredible dedication, it seems the sky's the limit.
