Heidi Klum And Tim Gunn Reveal What It's Like Working Together - Exclusive

Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn make hosting a TV show look effortless, but it hasn't always been that way. "I didn't learn to host anything or do these types of things and speak in public like that," Klum explained during an exclusive interview with The List. Before "Project Runway," neither one of them had ever really been on television before, so learning the ropes on a competition series was a challenge for these professionals, too. "I had so many sweaty palm moments with Tim behind the scrim and like, 'Oh, my gosh,' or even shaking, or dry mouth," she admitted.

Ever since they first stepped foot on the set in 2004, these two have grown incredibly close. "When we share each other's vulnerabilities with the other, it develops a bond that is lifetime," Gunn told us, and this bond has kept fans tuning in to watch their TV shows for decades.

Now, fans have followed them along to their new successful series "Making the Cut," where they've become quite an unstoppable duo. "Being 17 years married with Tim Gunn, you know, we really know each other well and ... what our abilities are, and what our fears are," Klum told us. It's certainly made hosting a TV show a lot less nerve-wracking. "It is great to be able to work with someone that knows you very well," Klum added, so we asked them all about what it's like working together today.

At this point, it's almost as if Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn can read each other's minds

As we watch Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn host "Making the Cut," it's hard to imagine these fashion icons ever having a hard day on set — but it still happens. "Maybe I'm a little tired. I can't remember anything, my lines that I have to say," Klum explained. However, in true Tim Gunn fashion, he's always there to help. "He'll know when I'm like, 'I can't get it out today,'" she said. "Then Tim is like, 'I'll do it.' Or sometimes that happens the other way around."

While the series looks picture perfect to us all watching from home, some days are stressful. Yet, the two of them always find a way to make it work — together. "It's just beautiful when, you know, we have each other's backs," Klum said. "We can have fun." And it's something fans everywhere will continue to tune in to see for the next 20 years, too.

New episodes of "Making the Cut" are available to stream each week exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
