The Truth About Uzo Aduba's Filmmaker Husband

"Orange Is The New Black" actor Uzo Aduba let fans in on a secret over the weekend — she's married and has been for a while. The Emmy winner broke the news on Instagram by uploading a sweet photo with her husband, Robert Sweeting. In it, she can be seen wearing white and a veil with Sweeting decked out in a blazer. Fans were surprised by the update and curious about when the wedding happened. Luckily, the caption, which included a quote from "When Harry Met Sally," provided some additional insight.

"For some of us, it can feel like we spend our whole lives waiting for our special someone," Aduba wrote. "My heart, my love — I'm so happy my life started last year with you. You're the best thing that ever happened to me." Sweeting shared even more pics with an equally sweet message on Instagram as well. "One year ago I married this gorgeous, talented and incredible woman. This past year has made me appreciate the fragile nature of life and the importance of living it," he wrote. "At a time where the world is upside down, we learned to find joy and peace in each other. You are the greatest person I've ever known, and I'm proud to be your husband."

Essence noted that Aduba is known to keep her private life as such, which is why not much is known about her new husband. However, here's the truth about Robert Sweeting.

Robert Sweeting is a director

It seems as though Robert Sweeting keeps a relatively low profile, just like his wife. However, it's clear that Uzo Aduba's husband works in film. He lists himself as a director on his infrequently updated Instagram. His bio includes a link to his website, where you can view a reel of some of his work. The sample features snippets from collaborations with large-scale brands such as Garnier.

Sweeting also has an account on Vimeo that is registered under the name Creative Destruction Films. The company is described as New York City-based and offers "full-service video pre-production, production, post-production, and digital animation." Clips on the page reveal additional collabs with brands like Colgate. On the merits of his impressive portfolio, it's clear that Sweeting is very talented.

He also appears to be a Prince fan, according to a post on his Instagram, and was deeply moved by the tragic passing of Michael K. Williams (via Instagram). Sweeting has also shared several posts relating to the Black Lives Matter movement (via Instagram). Most importantly, he clearly really loves his wife. For the fans of Aduba, that's all that really matters.
