Siesta Key Season 5 - Here's What We Can Tell Fans So Far

If you're interested in seeing plenty of tumultuous breakups, fights, and other dramatic antics with a seriously beautiful, beachy backdrop, MTV's reality television show, "Siesta Key," delivers. The show, which first premiered in 2017, was originally inspired by the popular 2004 reality television series "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County." Per The Cinemaholic, the reality television show follows a group of friends who spend their summers exploring the finest parts of Sarasota, Florida.

While the show has faced criticisms in the past for its lack of interesting content and not showing off the culturally diverse parts of Sarasota, it has become a guilty pleasure for many loyal viewers. In fact, according to Sarasota Magazine, the show's loyal fanbase has even created a Facebook group of 30,000 members who discuss even the show's most minute details on a daily basis. Thus far, the show's popularity has spawned four separate seasons.

Ahead, we detail what we've learned about the fifth season of "Siesta Key."

When will the fifth season of "Siesta Key" premiere on MTV?

Since the Season 4 finale of "Siesta Key," fans have been clamoring for new catfights, heartbreaks, and career highs from the group of friends. Unfortunately, at this point, MTV has not announced whether or not the show will be renewed for a fifth season. According to The Cinemaholic, based upon the fact that filming for the fourth season of the show began in late 2020, six months before it premiered on MTV, the fifth season "Siesta Key" will most likely premiere at some point in the second quarter of 2022. However, that is only if the show is renewed in the next few months.

It's likely that the fifth season of the show will focus on the tension building between cast members Juliette Porter and Kelsey Owens over their warring swimsuit lines, along with other drama that ensued in the show's reunion, which featured the bombshell announcement that Madisson Hausburg was pregnant with her first child, according to Herald-Tribune.

Who will appear in the fifth season of the show?

Given the fact that nothing has been announced regarding the fifth season of "Siesta Key," we can only assume which cast members will be making an appearance on the upcoming season of the show. According to The Cinemaholic, the fourth season of the show featured primary cast members Juliette Porter, Madisson Hausburg, Brandon Gomes, Kelsey Owens, Garrett Miller, Amanda Miller, and Sam Logan.

This casting in the fourth season proved to fare far better for the show than casting in prior seasons. According to Variety, during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020, MTV decided to part ways with former primary cast member Alex Kompothecras after old Instagram posts of his resurfaced in which he was captured shooting a shark, dragging a live shark behind a boat, and engaging in generally racist and fatphobic behavior.

It's highly likely that former cast member Chloe Trautman will also not be returning to the show, as she has previously stated that she found the reality show to be toxic. Per The Cinemaholic, Trautman eventually stepped away from the show to protect her mental health.

Here's what we know about Madisson's stillbirth

In August 2021, "Siesta Key" cast member Madisson Hausburg revealed that she was pregnant with her first child. In a statement, Hausburg and her fiancé, Ismael "Ish" Soto (who previously worked as a producer on the show — draaama!), gushed about their future child. "We are beyond excited to finally share the news of our baby, due January 1. We already love this little baby so much and can't wait to meet them," Hausburg and Soto said in a statement, per People.

In December 2021, Hausburg revealed that her son, who was to be named Elliot, was stillborn. "Ish and I lost our son, Elliot Angel Soto, and I delivered him stillborn at 37 weeks," Hausburg said in an emotional Instagram post. "Instead of leaving the hospital with our beautiful baby boy, I was wheeled out with just this memory box. It's true what they say about there being no greater love than a mother's love. And there is no deeper pain than losing a child. Everyday I wake up to the agonizing reality that I will never again get to hold him or kiss him in this lifetime."

To commemorate her son, Hausburg got Elliot's name tattooed on her arm in order to "to forever carry you in my arms," as she noted in a later Instagram post.
