Prince William Fills Prince Charles With Great Pride By Doing This

Prince William has been building momentum for his newest project, the inaugural Earthshot Prize Awards. The ceremony, which will be held at Alexandra Palace in London on October 17, will select five innovative solutions to environmental challenges and award them with funding and support. Overall, the awards are set to be quite the affair with live musical performances and notable presenters. In a recent statement, Prince Charles shared his immense pride in William for his dedication to this project, and it was a touching message.

Prince William and the Royal Foundation's latest project reflects his and Kate Middleton's focus on environmental outreach as a part of their philanthropic efforts. The awards are planned out annually for the next 10 years, selecting five winners each year to receive a £1 million award for tackling issues including clean air, nature conservation, ocean revival, waste management, and climate innovation (per CNN). And Prince Charles seems to be thrilled with his son's latest endeavor.

"I am very proud of my son, William, for his growing commitment to the environment and the bold ambition of The Earthshot Prize," Charles said (per People). "As a world, we need to come together to inspire, reimagine and build the sustainable future we so desperately need."

Prince Charles went on to explain how the prize will make lasting change in the next few years. "Over the coming decade, with future generations in mind, The Earthshot Prize, and its inspirational nominees, will help us find the innovative solutions," he said (per People). Charles also discussed a somewhat related project of his own. "In parallel, through my Terra Carta and Sustainable Markets Initiative, we will work to mobilize the trillions of dollars required to transition the global economy onto a more sustainable trajectory," he said. "Together, with all those who join us, we have a real opportunity to deliver a brighter future for humanity while restoring harmony between Nature, People and Planet."

The hour-long ceremony will include a pre-recorded introduction from Prince William, as well as a slate of noteworthy performers and presenters. William announced which celebrities would be on-site for the big day, and the list was packed with A-listers. Along with hosts Clara Amfo and Dermot O'Leary, there will also be performances by Ed Sheeran, KSI and Yemi Alade, Shawn Mendes, and Coldplay. Scheduled presenters include the likes of Kate Middleton, Emma Thompson, Emma Watson, David Oyelowo, and Mo Salah. Perhaps most exciting for environmental enthusiasts, Sir David Attenborough will give a speech about the importance of working towards solutions to environmental problems.

With 2021 being the first run of William's new prize project, the support of his father and the extensive list of celebrities alike is likely a boon to his confidence.
