Comedian Iliza Shlesinger Shares Happy Family News

Iliza Shlesinger broke into the world of comedy by becoming the first and youngest woman to win the popular NBC show, "Last Comic Standing" (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet). From there, she has had a great career. She would go on to make a Netflix movie detailing a relationship with an ex-boyfriend called "Good On Paper."

When she's not acting, she's doing standup comedy shows across the country or jokingly calling out Garth Brooks on the stage of the Country Music Awards. She's also an accomplished writer, applying her expertise to projects across the entertainment industry. She's even narrated a documentary called "Imagine It! Power of Imagination."

When she's not making audiences laugh, she's at home spending time with her chef and food blogger husband, Noah Galuten (per The Cinemaholic). The couple met on a dating app in 2016 with Glauten having no idea he was talking to a celebrity, as Shlesinger used a different name on the platform. Eventually, she came clean about her identity and they have been happily married since 2018.

Now, the couple announced super exciting family news!

She and her husband welcomed their first child

Shlesinger and Glauten announced that on January 13th, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Sierra Mae (via People). The proud parents shared that their daughter was born in Los Angeles at 11:26 pm, weighing 7 lbs. and 9 oz.

On the birth of their first child, Shlesinger gushed, "We live in Hollywood and she is the first person I've been excited to meet," adding, "Mother and baby are doing beautifully. Dad's back hurts, unrelated to pregnancy."

She told People that the couple came up with the name of their daughter as a compromise. Schlesinger wanted a unique name that was rooted in nature, while her husband wasn't exactly on board. "My husband wanted an easy name — our compromise was a unique name with an uncomplicated spelling." The couple landed on Sierra.

Shlesinger announced she was pregnant on stage at a comedy show back in August (via Entertainment Tonight). She shared, "Oh my god, I can't believe this is happening! Recently, I had to move a lot of tickets because of a scheduling conflict," she continued, "So I just wanted to say it's because I've been working on a very big project. And you'll be able to see it in January!" Congrats are in order for the new parents!
