This is probably going to come as a huge shock, but turns out there are a lot of attractive celebrities who also happen to have great-looking parents. Crazy, right? And we're not just talking about celebrities whose parents are also celebrities. These are just normal, everyday people who also happen to have blessed genetics they passed onto their children in the form of fantastic looks and talent. Let's take a look at the hot moms and pops who gave us some of our favorite stars.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has credited her mom, Mandy Teefey, with a lot more than just handing down the eyes, cheekbones, and jawline that have made her the face of campaigns for both Adidas and Pantene. Teefey was just 16-years-old when she got pregnant, a reality that Gomez now recognizes was pretty tough. "Having me at 16 had to have been a big responsibility. My mom gave up everything for me and had, like, three jobs. She supported me, sacrificed her life for me," Gomez said during an E! special (via HuffPost).

Teefey, who had worked briefly in production in the early 2000s, recently stepped back into the entertainment business as executive producer on Gomez's hit Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why. Speaking with ET about working creatively with her daughter for the first time, she said, "I'm really happy it finally came to fruition, and with the amazing people that gave all their heart and passion to it. It's been great."

Jacob Tremblay

As the breakout star of Room (2015), 9-year-old Jacob Tremblay quickly became one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood. But when the 2015-2016 awards season rolled around, it was his parents, Jason and Christina Tremblay, who unwittingly found themselves in the center of the spotlight.

A New York Times profile of Jacob revealed that mom and dad Tremblay are just regular folks — he's a detective and she's a homemaker — who begrudgingly allowed their daughter, Emma, Jacob's older sis, to audition for the sci-fi thriller, Elysium (2013). She got the part, but Jacob also caught the eye of casting agents, and his Hollywood career was born. Little did his parents know that he would start winning awards, meaning they'd be walking alongside him down a paparazzi-filled red carpet.

But at least the attention didn't turn negative. Buzzfeed declared them "The Hottest People At The Oscars," meanwhile young Jacob just found the fascination with his parents to be comical. At The 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Jacob told ET, "They're a little bit shy," adding,"They just laugh about it. It's kinda funny, 'cause now my mom calls my dad, 'Hot Dad.'"

Louis Tomlinson

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson's mom, Johannah Deakin, lost her battle with leukemia on December 7, 2016. According to CNN, Deakin was a midwife, who was also "well known" to her son's fans. She made appearances with Tomlinson on the red carpet, and also frequently popped up on his social media accounts.

Obviously, Deakin was physically gorgeous on the outside, and by most accounts, that beauty was also reflected on the inside. In a statement published by People, Deakin's husband wrote, "[Johannah] desired nothing more than for everyone around her to be happy and loving. She worked tirelessly on numerous charity campaigns, creating memories for many individuals and their families."

Just days after Deakin's death, Tomlinson performed his song "Just Hold On," as a tribute to her on The X Factor. Judge Simon Cowell applauded Tomlinson's "brave" performance and said, "Your mum was so proud of you, she was so looking forward to tonight and she's looking down on you now."

Matthew McConaughey

It's clear that Matthew McConaughey got his sparkling eyes and wide smile from his stunner of a mom, Mary Kathlene McConaughey. Known as K-Mac to friends and family, she made a little splash in Hollywood when she had a small but memorable role in Matthew's 2011 film, Bernie. But it was her legendary anecdote about Matthew's late father, Jim McConaughey, that permanently cemented K-Mac in the pop culture zeitgeist.

K-Mac's 2008 memoir, I Amaze Myself, includes the story of how Jim died in the middle of making love to her, which admittedly sounds horrible. But somehow, K-Mac spun the story in a positive way. When promoting the book, K-Mac told Us Weekly (via Fox News), "On Monday mornings, he and I often said goodbye by making love. But one day, all of a sudden, it just happened. I knew that something was wrong, because I didn't hear anything from him. Just nothing. But it was just the best way to go!" K-Mac then requested that her deceased husband be removed from the house naked. "I was just so proud to show off my big old Jim McConaughey — and his gift," she said. Alright, alright, alright.

Justin Bieber

Like Selena Gomez's mom, Pattie Mallette also got pregnant with a future pop superstar when she was a teenager. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Mallette described her feelings of fear and anxiety over the prospect of having a child at just 18. "At the moment, I just was afraid, and wanted to weigh my options, and figure out what the best thing to do was. And knowing that I'm not prepared to raise another life, but I had to make a decision and I had to grow up pretty quickly," she said. She also revealed that Justin actually sounded like he was singing when he cried as a baby, which Mallette said was music to her ears.

Mallette, an obvious natural beauty, was a notable presence alongside her son for years during his rise to fame, although they hit a small bump in the road, with Justin revealing in a November 2015 interview with Billboard that they hadn't spoken in a while. However, by Mother's Day in 2016, things were seemingly all patched up as Mallette tweeted, "Yes @justinbieber was a good boy and called to wish me Happy Mother's Day! I love that y'all are so concerned!! xoxo." He even sent her a video in which he got his entire audience to scream, "Aloha, Pattie!" before he says, "I love you, mom. Happy Mother's Day." Awe, so sweet!

Charlize Theron

There's that cheesy thing  guys do when they first meet a girl's mom and they say, "Whoa, I didn't know she had a sister!" But in the case of Oscar-winner Charlize Theron's mom, Gerda Maritz, that confusion could actually be genuine. Seen here together at the Oscars in 2013, the resemblance between them is uncanny. Their smile and high cheekbones are almost identical, not to mention their beautiful blonde locks. Okay admittedly, that last one is less related to genetics than it is to a great salon, but the point is these two share a lot.

That includes the traumatizing experience from Theron's childhood when her mother was forced to kill her father after he repeatedly threatened to shoot them both. In a 2004 interview with Primetime, Theron detailed the horrifying night when her father returned home from drinking, and began firing a shotgun all over their house, including into her bedroom. In what police later determined was self defense, Maritz grabbed her own gun and fired back at both him and his brother, who was also present. Theron was then sent away to avoid the ensuing chaos of the investigation, which was a decision she viewed as brave on her mother's part. "Those are the sacrifices, you know, that I think you do for your children, and she always did that. She always put me first," Theron said.

Beyoncé

Another uncannily similar mother/daughter combo is Beyoncé and her mom, Tina Knowles. From the nose up, they're basically doppelgangers, but what a lot of people don't know is that Tina is also largely responsible for one of Beyoncé's non-genetic gifts: her style. According to a Texas Monthly profile of the Knowles family, matriarch Tina Knowles was the original wardrobe designer for Destiny's Child, as well as Beyoncé and her sister, Solange's early solo careers. But her passion for design didn't fade as Beyoncé graduated to wearing clothes tailor-made by top designers. Tina eventually launched lines of her own; House of Deréon, Deréon, and Miss Tina, which each achieved varying levels of success.

But to Beyoncé, the experience of wearing her mother's designs meant more than just being fashionable. In a speech at the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards, the "Formation" singer addressed her mom directly, saying, "Thank you for showing me that having a presence is more than the clothes you wear or your physical beauty. Thank you for showing me how to never take no for an answer. Thank you for showing me how to take risks, work hard and live life on my own terms."

Britney Spears

There's a reason this picture of Lynne Spears is not one with Britney in it. That's because there aren't too many of those around, likely due to the fact that Britney and Lynne have had a rocky relationship throughout Britney's fame. Speaking with The Daily Mail in 2008, Lynne revealed that although she supported Britney's early career, things changed when Britney's pop stardom really took off. "When her life was such a success, what did she need me for?" Lynne asked. Lynne also lamented not preparing Britney for life's stressful moments, partially blaming herself for her daughter's infamous public meltdown. "Maybe I didn't give her the skills to handle the hard times. Maybe I sheltered her too much from the realities, and sometimes that's not a good thing," Lynne said.

But Britney has obviously come a long way since the days of her permanent tabloid presence, and it seems like she and Lynne have even patched things up. Us Weekly reported they hit the beach together in April of 2017 for a Hawaiian vacation, and that they were "both looking tanned and incredibly fit!" We hope the reconciliation is permanent.

Colin Farrell

The only thing cuter than Colin Farrell's mom is the way he talks about her. Speaking with Interview, the Irish actor gushed about bringing her to the U.S. for an extended stay. "It's such a treat to be able to bring her over. It makes me feel good about myself. But I know if I didn't have a penny in my pocket I'd be a good son. She needs to be pampered now. She's worked hard."

He even says that off all of his films, he's most fond of the 2011 reboot of Fright Night, thanks the chance on-set meeting of his mother and producer Joel Michaels, which led to their marriage six months later. "If my being in Fright Night led to my mother's happiness, then, yes, absolutely, that film will always be the greatest success of my career," Farrell told EW. Adorable.

Kate Middleton

Even though it's undoubtedly thrilling to have your daughter marry into The Royal Family, the stress of being suddenly thrust into the media spotlight has to be daunting. But you'd never know it in the case of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton. They've pretty much nailed every high profile event they've been a part of, be it William and Kate's wedding, younger daughter Pippa's wedding, or their visit to the hospital when Prince George was born. Carole's beautiful smile always pairs perfectly with silver fox husband, Michael's dashing looks, making it easy to see how their daughters turned out to be so gorgeous themselves.

Jared Leto

When it comes to the impossibly handsome and confusingly ageless Jared Leto, it probably shouldn't shock anyone that his mother is also an ethereal beauty. He brought her along for the Oscars in 2014, and she blew the red carpet away with her sparkling blue eyes, natural silver hair, and star-quality smile.

Leto must have had a good feeling about his chances that year, which he made abundantly clear when he largely dedicated his acceptance speech to his mom after winning Best Supporting Actor. "In 1971, Bossier City, Louisiana, there was a teenage girl who was pregnant with her second child. She was a high school dropout and a single mom, but somehow she managed to make a better life for herself and her children. She encouraged her kids to be creative, to work hard and to do something special. That girl is my mother and she's here tonight. And I just want to say, I love you, Mom," Leto said. Anyone else crying right now?

But what about famous celebrity parents?

In another shocking revelation, it turns out that beautiful famous people have produced beautiful famous offspring at approximately the same rate as non-famous beautiful people (not a scientific claim). But seriously, is anyone out there not aware that Jaden and Willow Smith's parents are the ridiculously attractive couple and mega-stars, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith? Or how about Ireland Baldwin's mom and dad. Has anyone ever heard of Kim Basinger or Alec Baldwin? Right, nobody expected that pairing of physical perfection to produce anything other than a knockout. We could go on, but we feel we've made our point.
