Claire Holt Shares What She Couldn't Take Home From The Vampire Diaries Set - Exclusive
There are so many things to love about Rebekah Mikaelson on "The Vampire Diaries." From her spirit to her style, even the actor who played her, Claire Holt, couldn't get enough of the character. In fact, Holt took home a good chunk of Mikaelson's wardrobe when the show wrapped up. "I got to keep some great coats, actually," she said during an exclusive interview with The List. "And Rebekah always had these awesome black jeans, so when we finished shooting, they let me take home some of the long coats and black jeans, which is right up my alley."
Fans will definitely be doing a double take whenever they see Holt wearing it all out and about, thinking that a vampire may, in fact, be in their midst. However, there will always be one important element missing from her wardrobe: the vampire teeth. "I didn't get to keep them," the actor admitted, and the reason why she had to leave them behind may surprise you.
Here's why Claire Holt didn't want to keep her vampire teeth
There was a lot of detail put into the sharp fangs we saw in every episode of "The Vampire Diaries." Every actor on the show had impressions made to help create a unique set to fit each immortal character's mouth.
While seeing these teeth on-screen always put everyone watching into a panic, they were actually pretty hysterical to Claire Holt. "They looked fine on-camera," she told The List. However, seeing them off-set is a different experience entirely. "When you put them in, you know, for a laugh, you're not scary in the slightest."
The vampire teeth may have been made specifically for Holt's mouth, but there's a major reason why she didn't want to keep them. "Because you speak with a ridiculous lisp with those teeth in," she laughed, which would leave us all questioning if she really is the mighty Rebekah Mikaelson after all.
