Why People Think Cady McClain Might Appear On The Bold And The Beautiful

Daytime fans have been watching Cady McClain bring strong women to life all over the daytime dial since 1989 when the actress was barely out of her teens and landed the role of Dixie Cooney on ABC's "All My Children." Although Dixie is arguably McClain's most famous soap character as she played her off and on until 2013, including on the "AMC" reboot that briefly streamed on OWN, the actress also spent from 2002 to 2010 as Rosanna Cabot on CBS' "As The World Turns." That was before taking on the part of Kelly Andrews on "The Young and the Restless" from 2014 to 2015.

McClain's last soap role was in 2020 and 2021 when she briefly played Jennifer Horton on "Days of Our Lives" after actress Melissa Reeves couldn't return immediately when the show resumed production following the initial COVID-19 shutdowns. In January 2021, McClain shared a mystery photo on Instagram that's since been taken down that made fans wonder if she might be adding another soap to her roster and joining "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Cady McClain spent time on a mystery set

In an Instagram post that no longer exists, veteran soap star Cady McClain shared a snap of herself on a set, but she didn't reveal what set or even if it was a soap opera set. In the caption she wrote (via Soaps.com), "Fun to be working again on such a terrific show. Can't wait to be able to share the news with you all soon! Meantime, hoping you are all taking good care of yourselves. Sending hugs."

That one post got Soaps.com speculating if McClain might be joining "The Bold and the Beautiful" because it's a soap she has never appeared on before, but the outlet also thought that McClain could also make an appearance on "General Hospital" where she could run into Martin Grey, played by Michael E. Knight. As "All My Children" fans know, McClain's Dixie and Knight's Tad made up one of the most popular pairs on soaps at one time.

Of course, McClain could also be making a "Days of Our Lives" comeback as Jennifer, as there are rumors that Jennifer's daughter, Abigail (Marci Miller), might be killed off the show in the next few months. Wherever McClain ends up, soap fans will be thrilled to see her on their screens once again.
