The Real Reason Pierson Fode Left The Bold And The Beautiful

Thomas Hamilton Forrester is the son of Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) on "The Bold and the Beautiful." Currently, Thomas and his sister Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) are helping their father, Ridge, through the breakup of his marriage to Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang).

Various actors through the years have portrayed the legacy character on the half-hour CBS daytime drama. Soaps In Depth reports that actor Matthew Atkinson currently brings Thomas to life in the fictionalized version of Los Angeles that viewers worldwide tune in to watch each weekday. Drew Tyler Bell became the first adult actor to portray the Forrester grandson, and he kept the role from 2004 to 2010 when Adam Gregory took over.

If you're a long-time "B&B" fan, then you likely remember that actor Pierson Fode portrayed legacy character Thomas Forrester from 2015 through spring 2018. At the time he departed, the actor revealed the real reason why he chose to leave the popular soap opera, so read on to find out why Fode left Thomas and "B&B" behind.

Here's what Pierson Fode said about leaving

SheKnows Soaps reported Pierson Fode explained his "The Bold and the Beautiful" Thomas Forrester departure to the print version of Soap Opera Digest. For Fode, leaving the soap was his choice. "It was hard because you want to have your cake and eat it too. You want to be there and I still want to go off and shoot a Marvel movie. I want to still be shooting on 'B&B' and I want to do a Netflix series, and at the end of the day, you can't do it all. And that was the choice that I had to make."

At the time, Fode also took to Instagram, offering details about his choice. "The decision to say goodbye to @boldandbeautifulcbs didn't come easily but with sleepless nights and countless questions. What a surreal experience to have, but ultimately I have to go where my heart leads me. It's what we all have to do."

After sending his thanks to everyone at "B&B," Fode left some words for the next actor to take on the role. "At some point I will likely have to pass the baton of Thomas to another hideous looking guy," he joked. "But when the time comes for him to step into my shoes, I hope my performance will haunt him for the rest of his life. Thanks for allowing me into all of your lives and I hope you follow me on my journey to new things."
