Colton Underwood Shares Happy Relationship News

When it comes to finding love, few have had more harrowing and public journeys than Colton Underwood. Underwood first gained moderate notoriety when his career with the NFL began to take off. Having spent time as a free agent and tight end, Underwood found a place on teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles and the Oakland Raiders (via Players Bio). In 2018, though, Underwood found himself playing a new game, the game of love on Season 14 of "The Bachelorette." He did not win the heart of the Becca Kufrin, but went on to become "The Bachelor" in 2019 as he sought out a wife among dozens of hopefuls on national television (via Us Weekly).

When Underwood's season of "The Bachelor" came to an end, he gave his final rose to contestant Cassie Randolph (via People). However, the pair never made it down the aisle. They're tumultuous breakup even unfolded publicly as Randolph went so far as to file a restraining order against her former partner. Later, Underwood issued a public apology to Randolph during an interview with Robin Roberts for "Good Morning America,"  and in 2021, Underwood came out as gay

He has since found love and happiness, and in an Instagram post on Monday afternoon, the former Bachelor Nation star announced to the world that he was engaged.

The future is brighter for Colton Underwood

For years, Colton Underwood hid his sexual orientation from the world. It wasn't until he experienced attempted blackmail, according to Variety, that he decided to come out. "I'm gay. I came to terms with that earlier this year, and the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know. ... I'm the happiest and healthiest I've ever been in my life. That means the world to me," he said on "Good Morning America" (via Us Weekly). Just months later, in September 2021, Underwood and boyfriend Jordan Brown confirmed that they were in a relationship.

Underwood recently spent a post-birthday weekend in Big Sur with Brown, which is where the couple got engaged. "I'm extremely happy! 2021 was the most transformative year of my life," Underwood said to People. "Starting 2022 off with my best friend, teammate and now fiancé is something I never thought was going to be possible," he continued. Underwood also posted a cute picture of the two on Instagram with the caption, "life is going to be fun with you."

It looks as though the couple is enjoying pre-wedded bliss and looking forward to walking down the aisle.
