Why Nikki Bella Isn't Quite Ready Yet To Marry Artem Chigvintsev

Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev have a very interesting love story. The couple first met in 2017 when Bella signed on to join "Dancing With The Stars," and was partnered with Chigvintsev, per Us Weekly. The pair had plenty of chemistry in the ballroom. However, the WWE star was already engaged to fellow wrestling sensation John Cena at the time. Following her "DWTS" stint, Bella and Cena stunned fans when they called off their engagement and officially ended their relationship in 2018. In early 2019, Bella and Chigvintsev sparked relationship rumors and finally confirmed their romance in March of that year.

In January 2020, the happy couple announced their engagement and revealed that they were also expecting their first child together. The couple welcomed their son, Matteo, in July 2020. After becoming parents, Bella and Chigvintsev revealed that they planned to wed in November 2021. However, they reportedly hit a "rocky" patch and opted to go to couples therapy. They also decided to postpone their wedding so that Chigvintsev's parents could attend the ceremony. Bella later revealed that she wanted to get married in November 2022.

However, the "Total Bellas" star is now opening up about why she's not quite ready to walk down the aisle just yet.

Nikki Bella is being cautious when it comes to marriage

According to Page Six, Nikki Bella is weighing her options when it comes to her future wedding with Artem Chigvintsev. The WWE star admitted during an interview with E! News that she wants to take her time and be sure that when she says her marriage vows that it will be a relationship that will last forever. Bella also admitted that her son, Matteo, plays a huge factor into her decision to tie the knot with Chigvintsev.

"Once I had Matteo and I started to raise him, I was like, when I say 'I do,' I want to make sure it's forever," Bella stated. "I know there are things that Artem wants too — like he really wants his parents there — but also, overall, I don't want my son to go through a divorce."

Because of Bella's relationship history — she married her high school sweetheart at age 20, and called off her engagement to John Cena in 2018 — she wants to make absolutely certain that walking down the aisle with Chigvintsev is the right decision for both herself and her son. "Already what we have going on in our house right now is amazing," Bella added. "It's pretty much like a married life."

It seems that fans may be waiting a while to see Bella and Chigvintsev tie the knot. However, the pair are seemingly still going strong in their relationship.
