Kamala Harris Had A Priceless Reaction To Joe Biden's State Of The Union Slip

During 2022's State of the Union address, Vice President Kamala Harris provided a lot of support to President Joe Biden. She even made history that night with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. It was the first time two women were behind the president during the monumental speech (via USA Today). Harris and Pelosi spent most of the night standing up during the State of the Union address to applaud and support the president's message.

Harris was pleased with the way Biden handled the State of the Union address. "The president also, I thought, did a spectacular job of trying to appeal to American leaders, regardless of party affiliation, to come together in a unified way around these issues that impact people regardless who have they voted for in the last election," Harris told George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning America."

Harris supported Biden in more ways than one, too. When she heard him misspeak, she was seen mouthing the word he meant to say.

Harris caught one of Biden's gaffes

While President Joe Biden was speaking about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine during the State of the Union address, he fumbled over his words and said the wrong thing. While that happens to everyone, it's hard to miss when it's the president who does it. However, Vice President Harris had his back, and was seen mouthing the correct word for him behind the podium (via the New York Post).

Instead of saying "Ukrainian," Biden misspoke by saying "Iranian." He said, "Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he will never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people." When that happened, Harris was seen behind him mouthing the word "Ukrainian."

Biden finished off the quote by saying, "And he will never, never weaken the resolve of the free world" (via The Independent). Going into the State of the Union address, some Americans were concerned about Biden's mental fitness for his office and have since used this blunder as an example. However, we don't know what caused it to happen, and it could have been a simple mix-up. In either case, Harris had his back.
