Joey Lawrence Shares Happy Relationship News

Joey Lawrence is a married man once again. He wed Samantha Cope on May 1, 2022, in Temecula, California, a few months after Lawrence finalized his divorce from his second wife, Chandie Yawn-Nelson. The former couple were married for nearly 15 years and share two children: daughters Charleston and Liberty. Lawrence was married to first wife Michelle Vella from 2002 to 2005, per Us Weekly.

Lawrence met Cope on the set of the Lifetime movie "My Husband's Secret Brother" in 2020. "So we met there and out of nowhere, you know, it was a crazy year and a half for everybody, obviously the whole world. Then when you least expect [it,] amazing things happen and meeting her has just been really the greatest thing ever," Lawrence told Us Weekly. "She's a great person, and the girls do like her, which is great. It's awesome."

The actor, who is best known for his role on "Blossom," popped the question in August 2021. For Cope, she knew Lawrence was "the one" almost immediately. "From day one, it was such a safe place to be myself," she told People. "He loves everything about me and celebrates all those weird quirks about me. I was so blessed to be in a position to receive that. Two weeks in, I was like, 'I will be with you forever.' "

Joey Lawrence and Samantha Cope married in an outdoor ceremony

Joey Lawrence and Samantha Cope tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony at Temecula Creek Inn in Temecula, California. Lawrence's two brothers, Matthew and Andrew, as well as his two daughters, Charleston and Liberty, were in attendance. The marriage is Lawrence's third walk down the aisle. "It just feels so right," the "Melissa and Joey" star told People. "Life can be challenging at times, but when God gives you the right person, it's worth it."

Cope, who wore a Wtoo by Watters tulle gown, posted on Instagram about unexpectedly meeting her future husband on the set of their Lifetime movie. "Life is unpredictable. Follow your heart and know that if it's meant for you it will be yours," she wrote. "Keep striving to live your life authentically even when you're heavily criticized. Because in the end if you stay true to your core values and accept the blessings as they come, your life will turn out even better than expected."

The nuptials follows a tough few years for Lawrence. Not only did his second marriage come to an end, but he and his ex-wife filed for bankruptcy in 2017, with his net worth taking a hit. But with his love life on the upswing, hopefully his financial future is also looking brighter.
