How The May 30 New Moon Will Affect You If You're A Capricorn

The end of May is giving us a blank slate in more ways than one. Not only are we preparing to head into June, but May 30 will be giving us a double dose of Gemini energy as we not only enter Gemini season, but have a new moon in Gemini.

Since the last new moon was accompanied by an eclipse, it's been a few lunations since we've been able to take advantage of the energy and magic of the new moon to set intentions (via Nylon). The new moon will enter Gemini at around 7:30 a.m. ET, according to Cosmopolitan, and will bring with it a thirst for knowledge and desire for adventure. Basically, you're going to feel the urge to shake things up.

Mercury, Nylon explains, is encouraging us to consider what messages we send into the world, whether they're verbal, digital, or through our body language. Honesty really is the best policy, but be intentional with what you're communicating. Jill Wintersteen warns that it's easy to get caught up in the side to Gemini that is associated with gossip and drama, but you always have the power to steer conversations in better directions.

While every sign is going to be affected by the May 30 new moon, Capricorns and Capricorn risings are going to feel inspired to shake things up, especially when it comes to their routines (via InStyle).

Other planetary movement will affect how Capricorns feel during the May 30 new moon

New moons are for setting new intentions for the next month but what star sign the moon falls in isn't the only thing impacting how we experience the moon's energy.

Mercury being in retrograde is at the top of everyone's mind — and everyone's favorite thing to blame things going wrong on — but for this new moon especially, it's going to help us focus on the parts of our life we need to spend revising, Jeanna Kadlec explains in her Astrology for Writers newsletter. We should also be cautious about talking too much about our intentions and goals for the next month, Jill Wintersteen warns, since Mercury's inspiration for communication can lead to all talk and no action (via Yoga Journal).

Mars and Jupiter will be moving into Aries on May 29, according to InStyle, which means you could still be feeling the inspiration to be productive when the new moon rises. Mars, Wintersteen explains, will be encouraging us to be present in the day, especially as Gemini tempts us to disengage from, or over-intellectualize, our feelings. You'll want to find a balance between not feeling and feeling too much, which could be a struggle this new moon. If you haven't started journaling yet, now is the perfect time to pick up the habit.

With Venus entering Taurus on May 28, astrologer Chani Nicholas says that Capricorns and Capricorn risings should really consider how they're spending their time.

Capricorns should use the May 30 new moon to get creative

The May 30 new moon will also be forming a square with Saturn — ruler of time, boundaries, and Capricorns — per Nylon, asking us to evaluate whether we've been making enough time for ourselves. With how much Capricorns love work, it's easy to lose sight of the point of a work-life balance. But Gemini's duality is just that — a balance — which should serve as a point of inspiration for Capricorns.

Especially during Gemini season, it's easy to get wrapped up in searching for answers, and that can sometimes lead to more questions rather than the truth, Jill Wintersteen explains for Yoga Journal. Asking questions and being curious is good, but Capricorns should use the May 30 new moon to channel that energy into themselves. With the combined influences of Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter, don't be surprised if your exploration of boundaries goes beyond how — or if — you limit work. When's the last time you pushed your creative boundaries?

Like Chani Nicholas says, creativity is a Capricorn's love language, so the May 30 new moon is a good time to consider what's been stifling your creative flow. With the planet of communication overseeing the new moon, Capricorns may be hyperaware of how silenced they've felt lately. Since Gemini also falls in Capricorn's sixth house of wellness, it's going to be an especially potent time to get your workspace reorganized and add a new self-care habit to your daily routine (via Bustle).
