The 'Honey Bear' Storyline On The Bold And The Beautiful Explained
Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) and Eric Forrester (John McCook) of "The Bold and the Beautiful" are an item again in 2022, although they're a secret item — having a clandestine affair that's sure to come out one of these days, as Eric's wife, Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer), is no dummy.
But, while Eric enjoys his Wednesday afternoons in bed with Donna while he tells Quinn he's off to play yet another game of pickleball, Donna coos over her ex-husband, constantly calling him "Honey Bear," the sweet nickname she gave him so many years ago (via Soap Central).
It might seem like a lovely and generic term of affection between two people who are in love — or at least in lust — but, for this "The Bold and the Beautiful" pair, the nickname caused quite a bit of drama and danger befitting a soap opera, according to The Conversation.
How did Donna's term of endearment for Eric get her in trouble, and how did it cause the latest problem that, as of this writing, she has yet to learn is a problem?
Donna's encounter with a real bear
One thing Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) hated more than anything was when Donna Logan would call Eric Forrester "Honey Bear." She was never happy when her ex took up with one of the Logan sisters, with Donna's older sister, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), being the woman he first left Stephanie for (via Soaps.com).
So, in 2008, Stephanie's sister, Pam Douglas (Alley Mills), decided she'd help her out and remove Donna from Eric's life in a most unusual way. A vindictive Pam lured Donna to a remote cabin and poured honey all around Eric's latest love while she sat tied to a chair. Then, she let a grizzly bear into the cabin, but Owen Knight (Brandon Beemer) found and rescued a hysterical Donna, per YouTube.
Pam eventually softened toward Donna, but their relationship remained awkward as they both worked as receptionists together at Forrester Creations.
Donna's honey bear moves cured Eric
Donna Logan and Eric Forrester had not been together for years, but, in 2021, it became clear that Donna was still in love with Eric. Unfortunately for Donna, Eric had been married to Quinn Fuller since 2021. Even when Quinn had an affair with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) because Eric seemed uninterested in her sexually, Eric took her back, and Donna began giving up hope.
However, when she learned that Eric's problem was actually erectile dysfunction (via Daytime Confidential), Donna took matters into her own hands — literally. One day, when she and Eric were alone in his office, Donna brought out a bottle of honey and listened to her ex lament his sad love life.
As Eric spoke, Donna started licking honey off her fingers in a seductive way and then took Eric into her arms. Then the camera panned to Eric suddenly smiling, and the audience was left with the knowledge that his ED was cured (via Soaps.com).
Eric still remained married to Quinn, but, months later, fans learned that Eric had been having an affair with Donna since that day. Now that Quinn has given her husband a ring that also acts as a heart rate monitor she can track on an app (via Soap Hub), Donna and Eric could end up in some big trouble soon.
