Mzi 'Zee' Dempers On Romance Rumors About Below Deck Alum Georgia Grobler - Exclusive
"Below Deck Mediterranean" is back for its seventh season, and Mzi "Zee" Dempers has returned to work with Captain Sandy once again. Mzi was a major hit in Season 6, and his flirty friendship with Courtney Veale was endlessly fun to watch. But off screen, the deckhand has been linked to "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" star Georgia Grobler, also known as Georgia Rose, although it's unclear whether anything romantic is going on.
As for what viewers can expect from new episodes of "Below Deck Mediterranean," Dempers told The List, "Last season was fairly wholesome and this season will be a little bit spicier ... a lot of different personalities, which added to the joy of the season — very funny, very dramatic, and all around a lot of fun."
In an exclusive interview with The List, he further opened up about Season 7 of "Below Deck Mediterranean" and discussed those romantic rumors about fellow "Below Deck" alum Georgia Grobler.
Mzi and Georgia are 'friends'
Rumors about Mzi "Zee" Dempers and "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" star Georgia Grobler have been circulating for a while, and the pair have even shared photos of each other on their respective social media accounts. But during an interview with The List, Dempers played down any idea of romance. "Myself and Georgia, we still ... we hung out this year. We've hung out a couple times. We're still friends," he explained.
As for whether he's close to anyone else from the wider "Below Deck" universe, he said, "There's been a couple of people that have reached out through Instagram and things like that, but I've never really met anybody else in person. It's been my crew and Georgia."
One of the reasons Dempers hasn't had the chance to meet many cast members from the other "Below Deck" spin-offs is because the pandemic severely limited the chance to travel. However, that could change in the not-too-distant future. "Once we can travel and get to intertwine with each other and actually be in the States, then a lot of us will tend to cross paths," he told us. As for whether there's any romance between him and Georgia, the jury is still out.
