90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After Season 7: Details We Know So Far

Nowadays, the "90 Day Fiancé" franchise is so all-conquering that even the hit show's numerous spinoffs are several seasons deep. "90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After," which debuted in 2016, has an irresistible hook, particularly for longtime fans. It follows various couples who got married on a K-1 visa because one of the partners is from a foreign country, necessitating a 90-day courtship process.

As TLC teased in a description of the spinoff, the couples who managed to endure their long-distance romances before making it official "quickly realize that the honeymoon is over as real life sets in." As a result, "each couple has a quick dose of reality and drama unfolds when married life in America doesn't live up to their expectations." Naturally, "Happily Ever After" was immediately a hit with "90 Day Fiancé" fans.

In fact, according to a press release, the first season's ratings were an all-time high for the franchise, meaning a second season was all but guaranteed. Several more have followed in the years since, solidifying the spinoff's popularity.

With Season 7 on the horizon, here's what we can look forward to when the hit show returns.

When does Season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After start?

Season 6 of "90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After" culminated with an explosive two-part, tell-all reunion special in August 2021. And, although it's been a long wait for new episodes, we can confirm that Season 7 is slated to begin on Aug. 28, 2022, as reported by Us Weekly. A teaser (via YouTube) showcases that there's plenty of drama, with a number of fan-favorite couples seemingly on the cusp of ending things for good.

Among them, Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi — who somehow managed to make things work despite their significant age difference, getting hitched in January 2020 — seem to be just as volatile as before. "I've [given] nothing but loyalty to Michael for five years," Angela says in the trailer. "But at this point, I gotta do what I gotta do for me."

During the reunion special, she chastised Michael for neglecting her following a number of weight loss surgeries. "I really did think that you would take care of me emotionally, 'cause it's an emotional roller-coaster," she said, acknowledging how hurt she was when Michael began teasing her over her new look.

As People notes, Michael is still in Nigeria, waiting on his visa, leading Deem to feel more neglected. She might even seek love elsewhere, but we'll have to tune in to see how it all turns out when the show finally returns.

Who can we expect to see on Season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?

Many of our favorite "90 Day Fiancé" stars are returning for the seventh season of "Happily Ever After." EW confirms Elizabeth Potthast and Andrei Castravet — who announced that they were expecting their second child in March 2022, per People — are back, with both on an upward swing as they embrace new career directions. However, familial tensions remain high, especially as it appears that someone has reported them to the authorities, leading Andrei to be pulled in for a surprise green card interview.

Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya are learning how to parent with the arrival of baby Mylah, while she's also missing her native Ukraine, which has obviously been in the news recently due to the Russian invasion. Yara even considers moving her family over to the US to keep them safe.

Per Distractify, "90 Day Fiancé" icon "Big Ed" Brown is preparing to marry the woman of his dreams, Liz Woods, but he hasn't fully learned the error of his ways, and the couple is still struggling with trust.

Elsewhere, Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh, one of the franchise's biggest success stories, are still trying to make their relationship work amid disapproval from his family. Moreover, their significant age difference may finally prove to be too big of a hurdle.

Similarly, neither Kim Menzies nor Usman "SojaBoy" Umar's families approve of them getting married since there's an age gap between them, too, and they haven't been together that long.

What else do we know about Season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?

Aside from the usual relationship drama, Season 7 of "90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After" will provide surprising insight into the ongoing war in Ukraine through cast member Yara Zaya. As People reported, the reality star took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo wearing her country colors ahead of an appearance on Fox News, captioning it, "Honestly it's hard to sleep when you don't know what's going to happen to your friends and family."

As Yara told Fox emphatically, "I love my country. It's just so hard for me to even think that in 2022, in this world right now, war still exists, and people can kill other people for land and money." She also pointed out how Ukrainians are struggling to find enough food and water to survive.

In another Instagram Story, the "90 Day Fiancé" star shared her support for the people of Ukraine, asking fans to support the ongoing efforts, too. She also took the time to confirm that her family is safe, but that doesn't make it any easier, knowing how quickly things could change. As In Touch Weekly points out, there was speculation that Yara and husband Jovi Dufren were expecting another child, but her rep hilariously clarified, "Yara is pregnant...with a food baby."

Regardless, the young couple will have plenty to contend with in Season 7.
