The Plath Family Presents A United Front In The Midst Of Show Drama

The Plath family are no strangers to drama. Since 2019, viewers of the TLC reality show "Welcome to Plathville" have been riveted by the conservative, religious Georgia family. Parents Barry and Kim Plath raised their children away from the modern world by not allowing them to watch television or use the internet for anything other than schooling. Matriarch Kim has even outlawed added sugar or any kind of junk food in the family home.

Most of the conflict on the show has centered around Barry and Kim's unhappiness with eldest son Ethan Plath and his wife Olivia Plath. The couple married in 2018 and Ethan's parents soon had issues with how the newlyweds were living their lives. As a result, they restricted Ethan's access to his youngest siblings. "It really does hurt ... I have a lot of frustration that I am trying to deal with," Ethan revealed in a Season 2 episode

As if things couldn't get worse, Barry and Kim decided to end their marriage of 24 years. "At the end of the day, I just want her and my dad to be happy," daughter Moriah Plath told People. "It's really hard because they both want different things, so it's hard watching. I want my dad to be happy, but this is tearing him apart, but my mom's not going to be happy with my dad."

With their family in turmoil, Moriah and some of her other siblings have decided to put their differences aside and become a united front.

Ethan and Olivia Plath did not share the family's message

The Plath siblings — Moriah, Micah, Lydia and Isaac — have decided to put their differences aside as their family faces an uncertain future. "We as a family have decided to not be divided anymore," they posted on Instagram. "There is a lot more to the story than what you all have seen on the show. While we understand that this is a TV show and we are not in control how the show is edited, we are actually a family that is full of love and respect for each other. That being said, we as a family are not going to sit back and watch as our family is driven apart."

The statement went on to refute a claim by Ethan Plath's wife Olivia, who accused mom Kim of using her eldest son's credit card. The other siblings alleged that it was part of a business arrangement between mother and son, and Kim wasn't given the chance to explain her side of the story. They added that their younger siblings are at "vulnerable ages," and the negative attention is not good for them.

While it appears the four Plath children are all on the same page, their statement was not shared by Ethan or Olivia. In fact, when a fan commented about the Plath siblings' post on her Instagram page, Olivia responded, "Dysfunctional systems like to protect dysfunction."

So it looks like the drama won't stop anytime soon.
