How Many Children Does General Hospital's Scott Baldwin Have

Scott Baldwin first appeared on "General Hospital" in 1965, though he was then known as Scotty Bentley (via Soaps in Depth). He came to Port Charles with his mother and was soon adopted by his new stepfather Lee Baldwin. Once grown, Scott left town to attend law school and then returned in 1977, played by Kin Shriner, who has remained in the role ever since.

Scotty has had many relationships over the years with prominent "GH" women, such as Laura Webber, Susan Moore, Bobbie Spencer, and currently, Liesl Obrecht. However, none of those are the five women with which he had children. Many present-day viewers of the soap might not realize how many kids Scott has, as three of his five adult children are now deceased.

Most recently, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) showed up in Port Charles and surprised viewers by suggesting he might be Scott's long-lost son, having punched the older man upon first sight, according to Soaps. However, it turned out that Cody was actually the biological son of Scott's late ex-wife, Dominique Stanton, though it wouldn't have been the first — or second — time the attorney discovered an adult son he didn't know about. Scott didn't have the greatest track record as a father when his children were young, but he has tried to turn things around in his later life. Let's take a look at all the people who have — fortunately or not — called Scott Baldwin "dad."

Serena Baldwin made Scotty a father

Following an ill-fated affair with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), Scott Baldwin married Dominque Stanton (Shell Danielson) in 1992 (via Soap Central). Unfortunately, Dominque developed an inoperable brain tumor and was unable to carry a child. Lucy offered to be a surrogate for the couple and the following year she gave birth to Scott and Dominque's daughter Serena Baldwin.

While growing up, Lucy Coe was the only mother figure Serena knew and the trio became an official family in 1999 when Scott and Lucy married. Unfortunately, that relationship didn't last and Serena eventually moved overseas with Lucy and her new husband Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom), according to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. Though Lucy and Kevin both returned to Port Charles after some time, Serena has primarily remained off-screen ever since, though she is occasionally mentioned on the show.

Serena (played by Carly Schroeder) returned to Port Charles briefly in 2017 for a short visit with her parents, before departing once again. She was most recently mentioned in 2022 when Scotty traveled to see her in the Faroe Islands. When Scott returned to Port Charles, he met Cody Bell — or rather, Cody's fist. Cody had recently discovered that Dominque Stanton was his biological mother and that he had been adopted (via Soaps). He was displeased to learn that Serena had received the entirety of the Stanton fortune, including his rightful share, and had already spent it all.

Scott Baldwin and Lucy Coe adopted another daughter

Not long after Lucy Coe and Scott Baldwin were married, they adopted a little girl named Christina, who became the fourth member of their little family (via Soap Central). Unfortunately, Christina was later kidnapped by her biological mother, Julie Devlin (Lisa Ann Hadley). Though everyone searched relentlessly for the little girl, no one could find her. Eventually, Lucy and Scott's grief took a toll on their marriage, and they divorced.

Eventually, Julie discovered she was terminally ill and wouldn't be able to care for her child and decided to return Christina to Port Charles. Lucy was thrilled to get her daughter back, reuniting with her just before walking down the aisle with Kevin Collins. Though Scott was technically Christina's adopted father, the little girl also grew to see Kevin as a father figure. That feeling only grew when Lucy and Kevin moved to Paris with Serena and Christina (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet). Eventually, Lucy and Kevin returned to the states, and Christina remained overseas with her sister. She was last seen on-screen in 2003 as a little girl and is rarely mentioned.

Karen Wexler learned that Scott Baldwin was her father

Scott Baldwin dated a girl named Rhonda Wexler (Denise Galik-Furey) as a teenager and unknowingly impregnated her after their high school prom (via The TV MegaSite). Rhonda never told Scott about the baby and ended up raising her daughter, Karen, as a single mother.

Karen Wexler (then Cari Shayne) became part of the teen scene in Port Charles in the '90s and became known for her romance with Jason Quartermaine (Steve Burton), per Soap Central. She struggled as a young adult, working as an exotic dancer at a club owned by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and developing a substance abuse problem. Eventually, she married Jagger Cates (Antonio Sabato Jr.), and the pair moved to San Francisco for a time.

After returning to Port Charles a few years later, now played by Jennifer Hammon, Karen successfully became a doctor and worked at General Hospital. Eventually, Rhonda admitted to both Scotty and Karen that they were father and daughter, and the two worked on forging a familial relationship. However, Karen's romantic life was far more complicated.

In 1999, Marie Wilson took over the role, and Karen ended up in a relationship with Frank Scanlon (Jay Pickett), which became abusive. In 2003, Karen was only in her late 20s when she was hit by a car and tragically died from her injuries. Scott was understandably devastated by the loss of his newfound daughter and blamed Sonny for her death (via Soap Opera Spy).

Scott Baldwin discovered he had an adult son named Logan Hayes

Logan Hayes, played by Josh Duhon, joined the cast of "General Hospital" in 2007. He came to Port Charles to visit an old friend but quickly became smitten with Lulu Spencer (then Julie Berman) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), per Soaps in Depth. Lulu discovered that Logan's mother was the late Jacqueline Hayes and suspected that Scott Baldwin might be his father. Logan had already hated Scotty for years because the older man supposedly destroyed his family with a bad business deal, so neither man was thrilled with the idea of becoming father and son. However, a DNA test soon proved their relationship, and they slowly began to build a bond.

After Logan's brief relationship with Lulu ended in disaster, he began stalking her and even tried to frame her new boyfriend, Johnny Zacchara (Brandon Barash), for murder. At one point, Lulu caught Logan attacking Maxie, whom he blamed for their breakup, and she intervened. He then turned his rage on Lulu, and she was forced to stab him in self-defense. Logan died from his injuries, and Scott immediately went on a vengeful quest to find his son's killer.

Scott was convinced that Johnny was responsible and even tried to prosecute him, but the younger man was acquitted. When Scotty learned that Lulu had stabbed Logan, he went to the psychiatric institution where she was being held and tried to terrorize her (via Soap Central). However, Lulu's mother and Scott's ex, Laura Webber (Genie Francis), who was also institutionalized, woke up from her catatonic state and was able to put an end to the conflict. Over time, Scott and Lulu made peace with each other, though he obviously still grieves for the first son he lost.

Scott Baldwin suffered another loss when Franco was murdered

In 2013, Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) escaped from the psychiatric institution where she was being held and informed Scott Baldwin that he was the father of her adult son, artist Robert "Franco" Frank (Roger Howarth), per Soap Central. Scott was alarmed by this news as Franco was a known serial killer, though he had just had a brain tumor removed that was supposedly the cause of his violent actions, according to Soaps in Depth. However, Scott warmed to Franco when his son was framed for murder by Heather and even went so far as to help him avoid the police. Eventually, Franco was able to prove his innocence, and as he began trying to rebuild his life as an upstanding citizen, he also formed a bond with his biological father.

Scotty supported Franco when he fell in love with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and became a stepfather to her three sons, even becoming a pseudo-grandfather to the boys himself (via Michael Fairman TV). Scott was happy to have a good relationship with the one son he had left, but unfortunately, tragedy struck again. In 2021, Scott was forced to live through another unimaginable loss when he learned that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) had murdered Franco.
