Who Are Princess Anne's Grandchildren

Princess Anne is the only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Despite her royal status, the details of her life have been kept relatively private, per Brides. At the time of her birth, Princess Anne was second in line to the throne, according to Town & Country, but despite her high royal status, there isn't much to know about Anne beyond her marital status and children.

Today, the Princess Royal is 16th in line for the throne and she is happily married, but her romantic life hasn't always been so cut and dry. In 1973, Princess Anne wed Captain Mark Phillips (via Brides). Together, they had two children named Peter and Zara. But their love life was anything but a fairytale. In 1989, the two split after it was discovered that Phillips impregnated another woman during their marriage. They officially divorced in 1992 and Princess Anne remarried Sir Timothy Laurence in a small Scotland-based ceremony.

While Princess Anne didn't stay married to the father of her children, the former couple does have five grandchildren (per Mirror). Here's what we know about some of the youngest members of the royal family.

Savannah Phillips

Savannah Phillips was born in December of 2010, becoming the first grandchild of Princess Anne and great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, per PureWow. Her full name is Savannah Anne Kathleen Phillips and her parents are Peter Phillips and his ex-wife Autumn Kelly. And while being the first seems important, Savannah does not hold a royal title because her father doesn't (via Hello!). She is also rarely seen out in public, but when she is, she makes her presence known. Back in 2018, she was caught pushing her cousin Prince George down a hill during a royal event, as PureWow noted.

Isla Phillips

Less than two years later in March of 2012, Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly had a second daughter named Isla Elizabeth Phillips (via Hello!). According to Town & Country, like her parents and her sister, Isla does not have a royal title, although she is currently 19th in line for the throne. The Phillips family keeps a relatively low profile for royals, but many have spotted Isla at important events including the queen's annual birthday parade and Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee events.

Mia Tindall

Mia is the first child of Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Tindall, and her husband Mike Tindall. Mia was born as Mia Grace Tindall on January 17, 2014, per Town & Country. At her birth, she became the third grandchild of Princess Anne and the fourth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II. Like her older cousins, Mia also does not hold an official royal title, once again because her parents do not. Still, the young girl is currently 21st in line for the throne, behind her mother. At just two years old, Mia made a statement when she grabbed her great-grandmother's purse in the 2016 royal portrait of the queen and her great-grandchildren and youngest grandchildren in honor of her 90th birthday.

Lena Tindall

On June 18, 2018, Mia gained a new sister when Lena Elizabeth Tindall was born. She became the fourth grandchild of Princess Anne and the seventh great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II. At just four years old, Lena is the 22nd in line to the throne, behind her older sister. But despite her royal status, Lena lives a low-key life, per Yahoo! Finance. One thing special about Lena is the fact that Prince Harry has been reported to be her godfather, although this has never been confirmed.

Lucas Tindall

The youngest of Princess Anne's grandchildren is Lucas Tindall, who was born in March 2021. Although he may be the youngest, Lucas made quite the entrance into the world. During an episode of the podcast "The Good, The Bad & The Rugby," his father Mike Tindall revealed that Lucas arrived so fast, they were unable to make it to the hospital, and instead, Zara Tindall gave birth to him on their bathroom floor. Lucas made his first royal appearance at the Platinum Jubilee Pageant in 2022 but was left out of the queen's funeral due to his young age, per Town & Country.
