A Look At Days Of Our Lives Star Camila Banus' Real-Life Marriage To Marlon Aquino

"Days of Our Lives" fans know actor Camila Banus as sassy Salemite Gabi Hernandez. In the Peacock soap opera, Banus portrays the dramatic bad girl with a very complicated love life. However, in reality, the "Days of Our Lives" star's real-life partner is her husband, actor Marlon Aquino. Television fans may recognize Aquino from his roles in TV shows such as "Lucifer, "Stumptown," or "The Book of Boba Fett." Aquino also works as a day trader.

Banus and Aquino began dating in 2012 and were together for eight years before getting engaged in late 2020. The duo announced their engagement via Instagram in December of that year and shared a video of themselves excitedly celebrating the big moment. The duo revealed that they got engaged in Miami when Aquino popped the question at one of Banus' favorite art museums.

Finally, after many years together and eight months of planning their fairytale wedding, Banus and Aquino made it official when they walked down the aisle together in 2021. Since that time, the pair have been happily sharing bits and pieces of their married life with their fans on social media, and their followers can't get over how adorable they are together.

Camila Banus and Marlon Aquino married in 2021

Camila Banus and Marlon Aquino officially tied the knot in August 2021 with a stunning ceremony at The Castle House Estate in Joshua Tree, California. The couple wanted to celebrate their love in style, which is exactly why they chose the picturesque venue.

"We picked this venue because it was so different and unique. It felt like an oasis in the middle of the desert. The minute we saw it, we knew it was for us," the "Days of Our Lives" star told People. "[We couldn't] wait to commemorate a decade of being together with a romantic and unforgettable evening in Joshua Tree," she added. The happy couple kept the wedding as small as they could, with just 90 of their closest friends and family members in attendance at the ceremony. They also provided sanitation areas to help combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The couple got married in an outdoor ceremony that took place around sundown. Banus wore a strapless white gown, and both the bride and groom changed into more comfortable clothing for the reception. Just weeks after their first wedding anniversary, Banus took to Instagram to gush over her husband on his birthday. "Happy birthday my love @aquinomarlon!!!! I am so blessed to have you in my life, I hope today is filled with love and happiness, wish I could be next to you to celebrate you," she wrote.

The happy couple is ready to start a family

In 2023, Camila Banus surprised fans when she announced that she would be leaving "Days of Our Lives" and the character of Gabi Hernandez behind. The actor told The Wrap that she wanted to cut back on the soap opera, and she tried to renegotiate her contract, but the production couldn't come up with a solution. Instead, Banus decided to leave the soap behind after 13 years. Although the actor says that she wants to explore other career opportunities, she also admitted that she and her husband, Marlon Aquino are ready to start a family, which was a major reason for taking a step back from the sudser.

"My husband and I are trying to start a family, hopefully," she said. "And that's another big factor in possibly just slowing down for a little bit and seeing kind of where this time takes me. But I'm also open to other opportunities and ready for big things. I'm just ready for something different," she added.

Although soap fans won't be seeing the actor on the small screen day in and day out, they can still follow her life on social media as she and her husband start a new chapter in their lives.
