The Stunning Transformation Of Hailey Baldwin

You know Hailey Baldwin's family, you know her face, and you probably know her famous husband (spoiler alert: if you haven't heard by now, it's Justin Bieber). But just how well do you know the woman who has officially (and legally) taken the "Love Yourself" singer off the market?

For starters, Hailey Baldwin was making a name for herself long before she was making headlines for her whirlwind romance and marriage to the Canadian-born pop sensation. If you feel like you've seen her face somewhere, you can rest assured that you most certainly have. Not only is Baldwin the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, making her a member of one of Hollywood's most famous families — she already has an impressive modeling career to show for herself, walking the runway for designers like Tommy Hilfiger and Dolce and Gabbana. Yeah, it's safe to say this gal will be making headlines for years to come — thanks to her red carpet looks, career moves, and high-profile relationship.

From kindergarten to catwalks, here's the stunning transformation of Hailey Baldwin.

Hailey Baldwin was born into fame

Hailey Baldwin is on her way to becoming a household name thanks to her booming modeling career and ultra high-profile relationships. However, successful modeling career and famous friends aside, Baldwin has never been a stranger to the limelight.

The blonde bombshell was born on Nov. 22, 1996 to parents Kennya and Stephen Baldwin. If her father's name rings a bell in your mind, it's probably because the Baldwins are kind of like American entertainment royalty. Hailey Baldwin's dad — as well as her uncles Alec, William, and Daniel — are each famous for their acting careers (to varying degrees of success).

Though being a Baldwin must certainly come with its own perks, this Baldwin would much rather be known for her own accomplishments and not simply her surname. As Baldwin explained in a 2016 Grazia feature, "I want to do everything on my own without my name being a factor. I try to keep myself separate from it."

Hailey Baldwin bounced off the walls as a child

To maintain a career as successful as Hailey Baldwin's has been thus far, one must have a certain sense of discipline. And though Baldwin might have been born with a famous last name, discipline was not something that came easy to her as a child.

In a 2018 interview with The Times, Baldwin revealed that she was a bit rambunctious as a little one, however low-profile and chill she may seem now. According to the star, she was "all over the place and bouncing off the walls" as a child, and was even diagnosed with "really bad" ADD (attention-deficit disorder), something she thinks she may still have to this day. However, Baldwin credits one particular hobby for properly preparing her for a long and successful career. "Doing ballet for 12 years taught me to be disciplined," Baldwin explained to The Times. "And my job now forces me to be disciplined. You have to keep it together or you fail."

Hailey Baldwin said she would never pose naked

Hailey Baldwin has become known for her memorable red carpet looks, including the sparkling number the model wore to the 2018 iHeart Radio Music Awards. But just so everyone is on the same page, Baldwin would like to make it clear that this sheer, nude pantsuit is probably the closest the star will ever come to posing nude.

In her super revealing 2018 interview with The Times, Baldwin shined some light onto how her childhood has affected the person she is today: "I have serious morals that are instilled in me because of how I was raised. There are some things that will never leave my structure." Among Baldwin's non-negotiables is showing too much skin. "I would never pose naked," the star told The Times

Baldwin's refusal to pose in her birthday suit should come as no surprise to fans of the model, as she's been open about Christianity and her relationship with the celeb-favorite Hillsong church. While some women certainly find empowerment in showing skin, Baldwin simply prefers to stay clothed.

When Hailey Baldwin met Justin Bieber

Arguably the biggest celebrity relationship news of 2018 was that of Hailey Baldwin's engagement to mega-famous pop star Justin Bieber. To an outsider, Baldwin and Bieber's relationship seemed to progress at quite an alarming rate. In May 2018, the young couple confirmed they were rekindling their romance after a fizzled 2016 fling. And in July 2018, after only two months of relationship speculation and adorable paparazzi photos of the pair, Baldwin and Bieber announced their engagement. Apparently, love really is better the second time around!

Though their relationship took major strides in only a matter of months, Baldwin and Bieber had been in each other's lives for nearly ten years before the surprise proposal — and there's even video footage from their very first meeting! In a short video clip from October 2009, the future lovebirds can be seen smiling and shaking hands after an introduction from Baldwin's father, Stephen. Though Bieber's face lights up when he lays eyes on Baldwin, the young model-in-the-making appears considerably less enthused. If teenage Baldwin was trying to play it cool, it definitely worked.

Hailey Baldwin is more than just a model

Hailey Baldwin has managed to breakaway from being pigeonholed for her famous surname by building a career that has landed her at the forefront of the modeling industry. This long-legged lady has quite the impressive modeling résumé, and it seems like she's only just begun! From walking in shows for designers like Tommy Hilfiger and Dolce and Gabbana, to achieving cover girl status for Elle Italia — Baldwin is already showing promise to be one of the most memorable supermodels of her generation. But don't get it twisted — Baldwin is much more than just a pretty face.

According to Baldwin, she thinks of her modeling career as a platform best used for sharing her passions and beliefs with the world. "It's really important in this day and age to stand for something..." Baldwin told Vogue in a 2018 feature. "I think having a voice is what it's about right now." It seems Baldwin knows all too well that trends come and go, but having a voice will always be en vogue.

Hailey Baldwin has a growing passion for politics

Hailey Baldwin's arrival to stardom just so happened to occur in the midst of an often overwhelming 24/7 news cycle filled with political debate and dissent in the wake of the 2016 presidential election. And while some celebrities choose to shy away from voicing any opinions that could spark heated political backlash from fans (Taylor Swift has been criticized for keeping her own political leanings to herself), Baldwin isn't afraid to speak up about the issues that matter most to her.

Though her father is a noted Trump supporter, Baldwin is quick to make it known that she is decidedly not. When asked if she voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, Baldwin replied, "Of course."

The model told The Times that, while the state of the world is "so crazy," she's optimistic that young people are learning to stand up and speak out for what's right. "I've been trying to find ways to get more involved with people my age and make changes for things that matter," said Baldwin. "That's what I'm passionate about."

Hailey Baldwin's personal style has matured

Though she's no Lady Gaga, Hailey Baldwin has certainly donned a number of unique looks, both on the catwalk and the sidewalk. From the shiny, millennial pink two-piece ensemble that looked like a life-sized Barbie outfit, to the colorful, Lisa Frank-like Moschino number she sported on the runway, Baldwin has had her share of memorable fashion and beauty moments.

Though Baldwin's modeling career has seen her don many a wig and dramatic makeup look, the star prefers to keep it simple when left to her own devices. In an interview with Byrdie, Baldwin revealed her "beauty crush" to be Margot Robbie for one particular reason. "I love classic, effortless beauty," Baldwin gushed. "That's beautiful to me — when it seems like you didn't try."

That's not to say Baldwin doesn't love makeup as much as the next girl. In September 2018, the model was announced as a new face of bareMinerals' "Power of Good" campaign, much to her delight. "I'm excited that my partnership with bareMinerals allows me to celebrate a world I already embrace every day," Baldwin gushed.

Hailey Baldwin made headlines for attending the Met Gala with this celeb

If you didn't know who Hailey Baldwin was before the 2018 Met Gala, you definitely knew who she was the next morning. Not only did Baldwin make a splash with her absolutely gorgeous Tommy Hilfiger ballgown — she made headlines for walking arm-in-arm with singer-songwriter heartthrob Shawn Mendes.

Fans of Baldwin and Mendes were thrilled to see the stars attend the lauded Met Gala together, looking very much the part of a young and in love Hollywood couple. The two were all smiles throughout the evening, and Mendes was even spotted sweetly fixing Hailey's gown so she'd look flawless for photographers. However, the dreams of Sha-Ley shippers were dashed when Mendes told W magazine that the two were simply "really good friends." Baldwin echoed the sentiment in her 2018 interview with The Times, calling Mendes "super lovely" before confirming that she was, indeed, single.

When news of Baldwin's engagement to Justin Bieber was announced, Mendes did have something to say to his Met Gala date. "I texted Hailey the day of [the engagement] and I said 'congrats,'" the "Treat You Better" singer told E! News.

Hailey Baldwin enjoyed a casual white wedding

When Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber revealed they had gotten engaged during a July 2018 trip to the Bahamas' Baker's Bay, fans and media outlets immediately began speculating on when and if the two would even make it to the altar in the first place. After all, the whirlwind romance was progressing at the speed of light, leaving many people to believe that Baldwin and Bieber's relationship would be just another example of mega-famous celebrities blindly diving head-first into lifelong commitment just because it's a Tuesday.

However, the naysayers were proved wrong on Sept. 13, 2018 when TMZ reported that Baldwin and Bieber had been spotted entering a marriage license courthouse. In the photo obtained by TMZ, Baldwin appeared to be wearing an off-the-shoulder, white mini-dress with long, puffy sleeves. No bridezilla here!

A source close to the couple told People that, while the couple were legally wed at the courthouse, they planned on having "a religious ceremony and celebration with friends and family soon."

Hailey Baldwin became a total tattoo lover

In September 2019, celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo took to Instagram to post a photo of Hailey Baldwin sporting some brand new ink. The tattoo, which can be clearly seen in the close-up photo of Baldwin's neck, is located just below a miniature cross tattoo of Baldwin's and spells the word "lover." Woo fittingly captioned his Instagram post, "Love always wins."

In April 2018, Baldwin revealed to The Cut that she had a whopping 19 pieces of permanent ink — though, you'd likely have to squint your eyes to see the tiny tattoos. "I think the really little dainty tattoos are very, like, they're very pretty on girls," Baldwin told the publication. She continued, "I never plan [to get a tattoo]. I plan it the night before."

For fans of Taylor Swift (who has a complicated history with Baldwin's husband, Justin Bieber), the timing of the model's "lover" tattoo was a bit suspicious, as Swift had just released her seventh studio album, Lover, in late August 2019. One fan commented on Woo's Instagram post (via People), "She's really promoting Taylor's album on her neck ... interesting timing."

Hailey Baldwin hasn't been afraid to change up her hair color

Hailey Baldwin sent fans into a tailspin on Aug. 14, 2019, when she took to Instagram and posted a photo of herself rocking a dark brunette bob. The photo came as a shock to fans, as Baldwin has sported medium-to-long locks in varying shades of blonde for the majority of her time in the spotlight. However, the model has dabbled in the dark side a time or two — perhaps most notably at the 2015 Met Gala.

"I wanted to do something that [would make people say] 'Oh that's so different for her' and talk about it, which is why I did the dark hair," Baldwin recalled to Vogue about her Met Gala 'do. However, the model confessed, "I always end up going back to blonde."

If you fancy yourself a fan of Baldwin's blonde locks, don't worry — it appears the short, brown bob was the product of a bit of wig magic, as the photos she posted afterward featured her famous golden hair.

A third wedding dress was the charm for Hailey Baldwin

While Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber officially tied the knot at a New York City courthouse in September 2018, the real celebration took place over a year later. According to People, the second wedding ceremony, which took place on Sept. 30, 2019 at Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, S.C., was attended by over 150 guests, including famous faces like Kendall Jenner and Jaden Smith.

Of course, all eyes were on the bride, who wore not one but three separate wedding gowns for her big day. Baldwin's stylist, Maeve Reilly, took to Instagram to post each of the model's wedding day looks. The first dress, which Baldwin wore to exchange vows with her husband, featured intricate lace detailing, an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline, and a dramatic train embroidered with the words "Till Death Do Us Part." Baldwin's second dress of the evening was a custom Ralph and Russo gown with a cinched waist, halter neckline, and thigh-high slit. Finally, Baldwin changed into her third dress — a silky, floor-sweeping Vera Wang number, which the model paired with sneakers fit for busting a move on the dance floor.
