90 Day Fiance: Jay Smith's New Girlfriend Looks Like His Ex

Jay Smith of 90 Day Fiancé went Instagram official with his new girlfriend, Kayla O'Brien, on August 6. The photo shows the couple cozying up at a bar. It's a cute picture, but many fans are paying more attention to the fact that the blonde O'Brien looks an awful lot like Smith's ex, Ashley Martson.

According to In Touch Weekly, comments on the photo pointed out the similarities between O'Brien and Martson. "Definitely has a type," wrote one user. "She is Ashley's twin in this picture." Smith has since closed comments on the post. O'Brien posted her own pictures of them together on the same day, captioning her post, "So much fun w my loves," seemingly confirming that they are, in fact, getting serious.

Smith, who is originally from Jamaica, was recently released from ICE custody on July 31 after being taken into custody on July 3 for violating a protection from abuse order filed by Martson against him. O'Brien, then calling herself a "close friend," started a GoFundMe account on Smith's behalf to raise money for a lawyer. Smith was eventually bailed out by his boss.

Martson reportedly knew about the relationship before it went public, telling Us Weekly on August 5 that she's known about her estranged husband's affair with O'Brien since January, when they were still together. She added that she knows of at least six people he has been with since they were married in May 2018.

Though Martson filed for divorce in January, the couple briefly reconciled. By April, the 90 Day Fiancé couple were again on the outs, and Martson filed for divorce a second time.

Martson now believes that Smith married her for a green card. He is currently refusing to sign the divorce papers because, according to Martson, he wants half her assets as well as spousal support. Smith is forbidden from making contact with her, per the terms of the protection from abuse order.

For her part, Martson says she has completely washed her hands of her ex. "I don't really care if he's deported," she told Us Weekly. "I just want him to leave me alone."
