Hocus Pocus: This Is How Much The Stars Of The Halloween Movie Are Worth Now

Hocus Pocus is the most popular Halloween movie to watch on the evening of the spooky holiday, according to a 2018 survey taken by FandangoNow (via Business Insider). However, if you're anything like us, the hilarious Disney cult classic is one of your go-to flicks all year round, no matter the season. After all, we're pretty sure it's impossible to ever get enough of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy's delightfully evil Sanderson sister witches.

It's not just a bunch of hocus pocus — the love audiences have for this movie is real. So, naturally, when it was announced in 2017 that the beloved Halloween classic would be getting a made-for-TV reboot, fans had questions. Would the TV movie be a remake, or would it be a sequel? And would Midler, Parker, and Najimy be reprising their witchy roles? Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, the answers to these questions are few and far between. However, many of your favorite Hocus Pocus cast members are still starring on screens big and small — though, some have seen more success than others. Here's how much the stars of Hocus Pocus are worth today.

Hocus Pocus star Bette Midler is bringing in the big bucks

For years, Bette Midler has delighted fans of Hocus Pocus with her portrayal of Winifred Sanderson, the main antagonist of Disney's hilariously wicked 1993 film. And while many fans might find it difficult to separate the actress-singer from the ringleader Sanderson sister, Hocus Pocus was far from Midler's first major role. Before her unforgettable performance as Winifred Sanderson, Midler starred in several Paul Mazursky-directed comedies, lent her voice to Disney's Oliver & Company, and appeared alongside Barbara Hershey in the tearjerker flick Beaches

Since Hocus Pocus, Midler has found varying degrees of success across the entertainment spectrum. In addition to releasing several albums, making guest appearances in various television shows, and starring in her very own short-lived sitcom, Midler scored multiple starring roles in films like The First Wives Club, What Women Want, and Parental Guidance

If you're on the market for a new home, Midler's old digs could be yours for a cool $50 million. The star – who's worth approximately $250 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth — listed her lavish Fifth Avenue penthouse for sale in 2019, telling The New York Times, "It's time for another family to enjoy it."

Sarah Jessica Parker has seen her fair share of success since Hocus Pocus

Alongside Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy, Sarah Jessica Parker portrayed one of the three Hocus Pocus Sanderson sister witches, who just so happened to also be named Sarah. There's no doubt that the Disney flick is one of the most beloved Halloween movies of all time — but, as Parker revealed to Stephen Colbert in a 2018 interview, she's far from a Hocus Pocus super-fan.

"I just don't remember what the movie's about as much," Parker told the talk show host. Discussing her character, Sarah Sanderson, she continued, "I fly and sing and I think I like to suck the life... I think I like to kill children? I don't know."

Since Sex and the City — the groundbreaking television show that catapulted her to stardom — came to an end in 2004, Parker has starred in two movies based on the series, as well as The Family Stone, Failure to Launch, and various other films. In 2016, Parker began starring and serving as executive producer on the HBO series Divorce. Celebrity Net Worth estimates the actress to be worth approximately $150 million.

Hocus Pocus star Kathy Najimy is quite charitable with her earnings

In Disney's Hocus Pocus, actress Kathy Najimy played Sanderson sister Mary Sanderson. Throughout the film, Mary is often shown desperately trying to please her older sister Winifred (played by Bette Midler), to no avail. Fortunately, the actress behind Mary has a list of impressive accomplishments that speak for themselves.

In addition to Hocus Pocus, Najimy is best known for playing another fictional Mary — Sister Mary Patrick — in the 1992 comedy Sister Act (as well as its 1993 sequel). Najimy voiced King of the Hill matriarch Peggy Hill from 1997 to 2010, and has lent her vocal talent to multiple animated features and television shows, including WALL-E, The Jungle Book: Mowgli's StoryTinker Bell, BoJack Horseman, Tangled: The Series, and American Dad

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Najimy is worth approximately $8 million. Najimy has also famously appeared as a contestant on multiple television game shows, raking in cash to donate to deserving charities. After winning the sixth season of Celebrity Poker Showdown, Najimy donated her $100,000 winnings to V-Day, an organization that works to stop violence against women and girls.

Hocus Pocus star Omri Katz scored a new gig

With a name like Omri Katz, one might think the young Hocus Pocus actor would have been better suited for the role of Thackery Binx — the teenager from 1693 Salem, Mass. who was cursed by the Sanderson sisters to live forever as an immortal black cat. Instead, Katz was cast as Max Dennison, the '90s era teen who accidentally resurrects the temporarily deceased witches while attempting to prove their non-existence. Oh, Max.

Actress Vinessa Shaw, who played Max Dennison's love interest, Allison, told ABC News in a 2015 interview that Katz was her best friend on the Hocus Pocus set. "Omri's such a cool dude. We were best buds," Shaw revealed. She continued, "We were good friends. He didn't make me feel nervous at all. Anything that was tension-building, we'd just laugh."

According to a mini-bio featured on his IMDb page, Katz spent some of his post-Hocus Pocus career making appearances in various television shows. With IMDb listing Katz's occupation as a hairdresser in Los Angeles, Calif., Celebrity Net Worth estimates the former child star to be worth approximately $1 million.

Vinessa Shaw wants a Hocus Pocus reboot, though she's kept busy in Hollywood

Played by actress Vinessa Shaw, Allison — the girl with a penchant for scary stories and Halloween legends on whom Max Dennison quickly develops a crush — is perhaps the most relatable of Hocus Pocus' many memorable characters. After all, how could you not love Halloween and every spooky surprise it entails?

Shaw — who has a net worth of $500,000, according to Celebrity Net Worth — has appeared in a vast number of various films and television shows, including her role as Kate McPherson in multiple episodes of the wildly popular television drama Ray Donovan. However, for Hocus Pocus fans everywhere, it's likely that Shaw will forever be most recognizable as everyone's favorite Halloween teen.

If her Instagram is any indication, being associated with Disney's witchy flick for the rest of her life is fine by Shaw. On Oct. 2, 2019, the actress posted a photo of herself alongside a few of her Hocus Pocus co-stars and a crystal ball. Shaw captioned the pic, "Oh, [crystal ball], will there be a #2? 'Tis time!" It definitely seems like this gal is on board for a Hocus Pocus sequel — and we are, too!

Hocus Pocus star Thora Birch is one busy actress

Throughout Hocus Pocus, Max's little sister, Dani Dennison, proves herself to be incredibly fearless, standing up to both her cynical older brother and the hilariously wicked Sanderson sisters. To put it simply, Dani was a role model for sisters of annoying older brothers everywhere — and, of course, her sweet friendship with Binx was wholeheartedly admired by those of us destined to become total cat ladies.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Birch is estimated to be worth approximately $8 million dollars. Unlike Omri Katz, the actor who portrayed her older brother, Birch continued to make career moves long after scoring her supporting role in Hocus Pocus. The actress has appeared in various films and television shows, including Clear and Present Danger, Touched by an Angel, Ghost World, and Colony. In 2019, Birch appeared as Gamma in AMC's hit series The Walking Dead

It doesn't seem as if the actress has plans to give up her craft anytime soon. In a 2019 interview, Birch told Vice, "In five years, I hope I'm still kicking it — acting, producing, maybe have one directing thing under my belt."

Hocus Pocus star Sean Murray is a major TV star today

As Hocus Pocus fans undoubtedly remember, Thackery Binx is the brave teenage boy who, after failing to save his younger sister from the Sanderson sisters' wicked clutches, is cursed to live forever as a black cat named Binx. Of course, his feline body doesn't distract Binx from his number one goal in his immortal life — bringing down the Sanderson witches once and for all. The actor behind the brave Thackery Binx, Sean Murray has come a long way since Hocus Pocus, and is now worth $8 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth estimates.

Following his breakout role as the human Thackery Binx in Hocus Pocus, Murray went on to score parts in multiple television shows, including series regular roles in Harts of the West and JAG. In 2003, Murray was cast as cybersecurity expert Timothy McGee in the first season of the CBS series NCIS — a role in which, at the time of this writing, the actor can still be seen today.

Hocus Pocus wasn't the biggest role Doug Jones snagged

Celebrity Net Worth lists Doug Jones as "an American actor and retired contortionist" who has a net worth of approximately $2 million. If his name doesn't ring a bell, don't worry — you definitely remember Jones' Hocus Pocus character, Billy Butcherson — the punnily named, zombified ex-lover of Winifred Sanderson who almost certainly inspired quite a few childhood nightmares for young viewers across the globe.

While Hocus Pocus was one of Jones' first major roles, the actor/retired contortionist made the most of his big break in the years following the film's release. According to IMDb, Jones appeared as a contortionist in multiple episodes of The Weird Al Show, and he went on to score acting roles in popular shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Kenan & Kel, and Party of Five. Jones continued flexing his acting muscles on the silver screen, scoring roles in television series like What We Do in the Shadows, Star Trek: Discovery, and Adopted. And that's not mentioning his notable roles in The Shape of Water, Hellboy, and Pan's Labyrinth. Obviously, this former zombie has some serious acting chops!

What happened to Hocus Pocus stars Charles Rocket and Stephanie Faracy?

Unfortunately, the actors behind Dave and Jenny Dennison — better known as Max and Dani Dennison's parents — didn't experience success quite comparable to that of their Hocus Pocus co-stars.

Jenny Dennison's real-life counterpart, Stephanie Faracy, has starred in various television series throughout the years, including Touched by an Angel, The Fantastic Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Devious Maids, and How to Get Away with Murder. The actress has also scored parts in movies like Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Bad Teacher, Get Him to the Greek, and Sideways. However, for Hocus Pocus fans, Faracy will likely always be best known as Max and Dani's well-meaning mother. At the time of this writing, her net worth is unknown, though we'd guess she's made a decent chunk of change from her various TV and movie roles.

While Charles Rocket, the former Saturday Night Live cast member who played Mr. Dennison, starred in a number of television shows and movies following Hocus Pocus, the actor tragically took his own life in 2005 (via People). He was 56 years old.
