The Reason Captain Sandy Almost Quit Below Deck Med

In order to be the captain of a yacht you have to be able to keep a pretty level head, but life on the high seas can get stressful. Throw in being on a reality show on top of that, and you've got a recipe for tension.

Welcome to the world of Below Deck. It's hard to imagine anyone but Captain Sandy running things on Below Deck Mediterranean, but she recently revealed that she almost walked out during season 3. What happened to make Captain Sandy so upset that the normally calm, cool, and collected yachtie almost left Below Deck Med?

Captain Sandy lost her temper

Viewers will remember the Below Dec Med episode during season 3 where chief stew Hannah Ferrier went to drink a Coke with guests but ended up being gone for five hours. Viewers will also remember just how mad Captain Sandy got. "You know Hannah, you actually think what you did is okay," the Bravo star told her chief stew, who said she thought it was acceptable to neglect her duties so long as she was serving the guests. "That's the most disturbing part for me. That's the problem. That's why we won't work together. We're done. The rest of this charter, you stay away from me."

Captain Sandy then stormed off, unable to deal with her chief stew any longer. "I don't know what I'm going to do with Hannah," she said. "Right now I just have to get through the rest of this charter and I need her to do her job and then I'll deal with it. I am so angry."

We just found out exactly how angry she was on November 17 (via Decider), when Captain Sandy sat on a Below Deck Mediterranean panel at BravoCon along with castmates Joao Franco and Colin Macy-O'Toole, as well as showrunner Nadine Rajabi. Apparently, Captain Sandy was so irate that she threatened to quit the show then and there, leaving Rajabi "as white as a ghost." Captain Sandy was prepared to leave, saying, "Let Hannah drive the boat if she thinks she's the Captain."

Captain Sandy also called her chief stew "insubordinate," adding "she doesn't listen."

Thankfully Captain Sandy eventually calmed down and decided to stay, because Below Deck Med wouldn't be the same without her.
