The Real Meaning Of John David And Abbie Duggar's New Baby's Name

Counting On stars John David and Abbie Duggar have welcomed their first child, a girl, into the world. The couple announced they were having a baby last August, confirming fan suspicions that they were having a girl a couple weeks later.

Abbie had a difficult pregnancy. Her husband told Us Weekly that she suffered from severe morning sickness and was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. It was so severe that Abbie was even hospitalized more than once. "We made multiple visits to the ER for dehydration," said John David. "She couldn't eat, pretty much, or drink, or anything. So she was actually on IVs and had IVs at home. So that was a pretty scary time."

What does Grace Annette Duggar's name mean?

According to Behind the Name, Grace is a virtue name that dates back to the 17th century Puritans. It ultimately comes from the Latin word "gratia."

The name Annette is a French version of the English name Anne which can be traced back to the Hebrew name Hannah. Interestingly, Grace's middle name is related to her first name as the name Hannah means "favor" or "grace." The name can be found in the Old Testament.
