Celebrities Who Are Waiting Out Quarantine In Luxury

For countless people across the globe, the pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus has proven to be a scary, stressful, and emotionally taxing time, to say the very least. The majority of the United States issued stay-at-home orders, instructing people to shelter in place and quarantine unless they were considered essential workers or needed to make essential trips to places like the grocery store or doctor's office.

Of course, depending on where you live, a quarantine period holds potential to make a stressful time even more uncomfortable. However, for Hollywood's elite, staying at home during the coronavirus pandemic looks more like a welcome vacation than it does a quarantine. And, considering celebrities have more time on their hands than ever now that they're not jetting off to movie premieres, touring the globe, or filming upcoming projects, many of your favorite stars have offered behind-the-scenes glances at their glamorous quarantine hideaways.

From Justin and Hailey Bieber's sprawling Canadian property to Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's mansion, here's a look at celebrities who are waiting out quarantine in luxury.

Ellen DeGeneres' luxurious quarantine is no laughing matter

Ellen DeGeneres is famous for inspiring fans of her daytime talk show to spread kindness; however, the comedian still very much enjoys spreading laughter, as well. Unfortunately, not every joke can be a winner — and one quarantine joke DeGeneres made while recording her talk show from her Southern California mansion fell especially flat.

"One thing that I've learned from being in quarantine is that  ... this is like being in jail," DeGeneres said during the at-home edition of her popular talk show on April 6, 2020. Of course, considering DeGeneres was hiding out in a 10,376-square-foot mansion while comparing her quarantine period to prison, the joke didn't exactly sit well with viewers. "Sitting inside her fifteen million dollar mansion complaining and comparing it to a prison, very tone deaf Ellen," one YouTube user commented (via CNN).

According to Architectural Digest, DeGeneres bought her five-bedroom, 12-bathroom quarantine hideaway from Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine in 2019, paying a smooth $45 million for the luxurious palatial property. Yeah, that doesn't exactly sound like a prison to us, either.

From pictures of delicious food to adorable photos and videos of her family, Chrissy Teigen's Instagram is a treasure trove of feel-good quarantine content.

Speaking to Yahoo! Entertainment in April 2020, Teigen revealed she and husband John Legend have plenty of time to cook delicious meals, make beautiful music, and create entertaining online content for fans because of the help they have behind the scenes. "We have really wonderful people around us who are helping our world still go round, where we're still able to work and take meetings — do these interviews — and get that break where someone else can take your child in the pool," Teigen dished.

According to Variety, the Beverly Hills home in which Teigen and Legend are spending quarantine is a five-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion they purchased from Rihanna for $14.1 million in 2016. And, as Teigen told Yahoo!, she and Legend understand their situation is far from the norm. "More than anything, you understand that we are incredibly, incredibly lucky because we really do hear and see everything that other people are going through," Teigen revealed.

Gigi and Bella Hadid are waiting out quarantine on their family's sprawling farm

Gigi and Bella Hadid may usually spend their time dodging paparazzi in New York City, but the supermodel sisters escaped to their family's farm in Pennsylvania to wait out quarantine.

On April 3, 2020, Gigi Hadid posted a photo to Instagram featuring a horse crossing sign, signaling to fans she'd made her way to the countryside. According to Architectural Digest, Gigi and Bella's mother, Yolanda Hadid, purchased the Pennsylvania farm in 2017, creating her own little slice of paradise with lavender fields, gardens, and plenty of space for her horses to run. And speaking of horses, both Gigi and Bella have posted pictures and videos to Instagram documenting their serene horseback rides through the countryside during quarantine.

During a March 31, 2020 appearance on O'Brien's at-home late night show, Turner dished, "If I could stay at home all day I would, so this is great for me." The actress continued, saying, "Everything seems to be working out in my favor here because Joe's like a real social butterfly, so I struggle to kind of lock him down and have him just spend time with me."

Fortunately, if Jonas finds himself needing a break from spending time with his wife, he has plenty of space to do so. According to the Wall Street Journal, Turner and Jonas live in a 15,000-square-foot mansion. The couple reportedly paid $14.1 million for the spacious home, which features a whopping ten bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.

Oprah Winfrey made it clear she wasn't taking any chances during the coronavirus pandemic when she forced her longtime partner, Stedman Graham, to quarantine in her guest house after he returned from a business trip. However, as Winfrey revealed in an Instagram Live video, Graham was understanding of her decision. She revealed she and her pop star husband were waiting out their self-quarantine at their Ontario, Canada home. Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez's luxurious quarantine stay came with perks

According to some fans, Jennifer Lopez is living in the real-life version of the luxurious mansion featured throughout the psychological thriller Parasite

On March 18, 2020, Lopez took to Instagram to share a video of her son, Max, rolling across her lawn on a hoverboard and delivering sparkling water to her baseball star fiancé, Alex Rodriguez. "We can't go out to any restaurants or anything but the service and entertainment here is pretty good," Lopez captioned the video, adding the hashtags #StaySafe and #familytime. However, while the video was certainly adorable, viewers were more focused on the superstar's residence than her son's hoverboard skills. Lopez's quarantine hideaway could be seen in the background of the video, and its large, rectangular panel windows quickly garnered comparisons to the Parasite mansion. "Cannot believe Jennifer Lopez lives in the Parasite house," one Twitter user joked

While the mansion does resemble the infamous Parasite home, it actually belongs to Rodriquez — not Lopez. According to Architectural Digest, Rodriguez's stunning 11,000-square-foot home was built over the course of a year beginning in 2013, and is located near Miami in Coral Gables, Fla.

Jennifer Garner is leasing a luxurious quarantine pad

According to Architectural Digest, Jennifer Garner began renting a luxurious Pacific Palisades mansion in February 2019, which boasted a selling price of over $13 million.

The sprawling mansion features six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms, as well as three stories — perfect for both Garner and her three children to have space and some amount of privacy. As noted by the home's listing on Compass.com, the residence also offers a wine-tasting room and wine cellar, a gym and sauna, a private pool and spa, and a home theater.

It's no secret Garner loves to bake, and her kitchen just might be her favorite room in the house. On the home's listing, the kitchen is described as a "large white marble chef's kitchen with the Miele suite of appliances," so it's safe to say Garner doesn't mind spending hours baking away! On March 22, 2020, the actress posted an episode of her "Pretend Cooking Show" to Instagram, in which she showed fans how to pass the time in quarantine by making their own English muffins.

Jennifer Aniston is quarantining lavishly in her Bel Air mansion

Jennifer Aniston has always had good taste, as evidenced by the way her mid-1990s "Rachel" haircut sparked a national trend. And, fortunately, the beloved star's sleek and sophisticated sense of style has seemingly carried over to her real estate ventures, as well.

While she waits for the coronavirus pandemic to slow and the quarantine period to end, Aniston is staying holed up in her California mansion, located in Bel Air. According to People, Aniston paid a hefty $21 million for her Bel Air property, which includes over three acres of land, 8,500-square-feet of living space, a pool, four bedrooms, and six and a half bathrooms (via Trulia). "Sexy is important, but comfort is essential," Aniston told Architectural Digest of her home's design. Added Aniston, "If I wasn't an actress, I'd want to be a designer. I love the process."

A lot of work went into the grounds on which Aniston's mansion is settled, which features multiple terraces, pocket gardens, and interconnected outdoor rooms. However, the home also reportedly houses a giant closet, which Aniston told Ellen DeGeneres she took the opportunity to clean during quarantine.

While we're always excited to be introduced to new content, we'd much rather be introduced to Gomez's cozy-yet-luxurious home. As warm and welcoming as it looks in the small glimpses provided by her Instagram posts, the listing for Gomez's dreamy home makes her abode seem like a place we'd never want to leave — quarantine or no quarantine.

According to Trulia, Gomez's four-bedroom, four-bathroom home is a relatively modest 3,188-square-feet, complete with a library, a "spa-like bath," two walk-in closets, a barbecue area, and a swimming pool. The singer's Studio City home definitely looks like a place we'd be more than happy to spend all of our time — and if Gomez's Instagram is any indication, she's a pretty happy homeowner herself.

Martha Stewart has remained a glamorous homemaking queen while waiting out quarantine

Martha Stewart has long been the go-to gal for people looking to make their home as beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming as possible. So it should come as no surprise that Stewart is waiting out quarantine in a beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming home of her own.

Stewart is spending quarantine at her Bedford, N.Y. home. According to the homemaking guru's website, it's a "monochromatic 1925 farmhouse" surrounded by 152 acres of land on which Stewart built a horse farm after purchasing the property for $15 million in 2000 (via The New York Times). As evidenced by Stewart's Instagram, her sprawling New York farm is also home to chickens, peacocks, geese, and other animals — and the wide open spaces allow for growing her own vegetables.

However, while she may be living on a large, luxurious farm, Stewart is missing one thing — her glam squad. Posting a selfie to Instagram on April 3, 2020, Stewart gave a special shoutout to her beauty team, writing, "I think about you all daily as I attempt my own daily ablutions and preparations."

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are relaxing in luxury during quarantine

Considering the incredible home in which Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are quarantining, it's safe to say the couple is enjoying their time away from the world.

According to Dirt, Jonas and Chopra dropped $20 million for a mansion within the Encino neighborhood of California only three miles away from Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's California home in November 2019. As noted by Dirt, the home features a bowling alley, an "IMAX-worthy" movie screen, and an indoor basketball court. Of course, during quarantine, none of the couple's pals can exactly come over to take advantage of all the cool stuff their house has to offer, so it's up to the lovebirds to make their own fun with each other. Fortunately, that doesn't seem to be a difficult task.

In March 2020, Jonas shared a video of the couple working out together on a sunny California day (via India Today), with Chopra posting a photo of the two cuddled up during an evening outdoors. Whether they're breaking a sweat or simply being sweet, it's safe to say these two are enjoying their time quarantining together in luxury.

"[The pandemic is] serious, and the only way that we're going to slow this down is if we [quarantine] because there is not a cure right now," Jenner told fans during a March 2020 Instagram Live video (via Variety). And Jenner is definitely practicing what she preaches. If her Instagram is any indication, the star has been hiding out in her Los Angeles, Calif. mansion since at least March 20, 2020, when she posted a picture of herself at home and asked her followers for movie recommendations.
