Kathie Lee Gifford's daughter, Cassidy, is married! A rep confirmed the happy news to Us Weekly, saying, "Ben and Cassidy got married in an intimate setting in his backyard in Michigan. They're planning on having a big celebration when it's safe to do so in the future."
The proud mom was thrilled, posting a picture of herself on a tractor on Instagram with the caption, "When the mother of the bride can't contain her joy!!!" The TV personality had previously announced her daughter's engagement on the social media site, posting a picture of her lookalike daughter and her soon-to-be son-in-law on Instagram. "So thrilled to announce that my beautiful daughter... is engaged to a wonderful man, Ben," Kathie Lee wrote in the caption of the post. "I am beyond the moon and stars. Thank you, LORD!"

Wierda and Gifford have been friends since she was 11 and he was 14, as Kathie Lee told Access Daily ahead of the engagement. According to a LinkedIn profile appearing to belong to Wierda, he is a project manager at Clarion Technologies, Inc. He previously worked as a business analyst and investment associate at Segel Group Limited. It seems that he is athletically inclined, as he worked as the assistant to the head trainer at Evert Tennis Academy in 2010. Wierda graduated with a B.A. in international management from Pepperdine University in 2013.
As noted by Distractify, Wierda's parents, Emilie and Craig, own two car dealerships. He has three siblings: Christian "Chip," Anna, and Andrew. He is also the nephew of U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.
