The Stunning Transformation Of Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak

Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak knows that being on a reality television show certainly has its perks. You get to be somewhat famous and make some money, all while simply living your life in front of a camera. And while the hit reality show Dance Moms may have gone through quite a few changes since it premiered in 2011, the show's original cast members are still making waves across the entertainment industry. Lukasiak, specifically, has done quite a bit of growing up since her time on Dance Moms, and to look back at her life and how much she's changed is pretty fascinating.

Dance Moms wasn't the start to Lukasiak's career, and it wasn't the end of it either. She's had an entire life outside the show and has enjoyed quite a stunning transformation, as well. From winning competitions to launching her own career outside of dance, Chloe Lukasiak has done an excellent job of showing the haters just how awesome she really is.

Even at a young age, Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak loved dance

Anyone who has seen Chloe Lukasiak on an episode of Dance Moms knows that the girl has talent. Not only is she technically proficient in dance, but she clearly loves it, too. And that's something that's been true for most of her life.

In fact, Lukasiak has been dancing since she was young. "I began taking dance classes at age 2 (we're hardcore in this fam), and I began competing at the age of 4," Lukasiak explained on her website. In an interview with Lowcountry Parent, Lukasiak explained how starting dance early really helped develop her love for it. "At 8 years old, I was doing a solo and it just clicked," she shared. "I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, so I just started working really hard at it." Starting dancing at just 2 years old might seem young, but clearly Lukasiak knew it was for her right away.

Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak has always been a reader

Even though Chloe Lukasiak's main (and most well-known) passion in life is dancing, she has another interest that has nothing to do with being on stage. Lukasiak is an avid reader, and she has a serious love for getting lost in a book.

Ever since she was young, the blonde starlet has had a strong connection with the books she reads. "Reading is everything to me. It's helped me time and time again, serving as an escape from tough situations," she said in an interview with Education and Career News. "Not to say that you shouldn't face your problems head-on, as I certainly believe in that."

Reading is where Lukasiak finds the most peace, but she does have a favorite genre. "When I was in fourth grade, I was introduced to a series called The Sisters Grimm and I quickly fell in love with the fantasy genre," she told Education and Career News, which then led to her favoring books that featured some kind of fantasy element. And since Lukasiak certainly went through her fair share of tough situations while on Dance Moms, it's likely that her affinity for reading helped her find solace and escape amidst all the drama.

Becoming a big sister changed Dance Moms star Chloe Lukasiak's life

Though she never really made a huge impact on Dance Moms, Chloe Lukasiak's little sister, Clara, did make a huge impact on Lukasiak from the moment she was born. Naturally, being a big sister is a special and important role for anyone, but Chloe Lukasiak takes it even more seriously than you might imagine.

On her website, Lukasiak explained that, even though her parents weren't expecting her, things turned out okay. "My mom, or Christi as I call her, and my dad, Marc, were young and scared out of their mind — I was a surprise!" she wrote. Lukasiak also explained that the whole family was excited when it came time for her little sister to arrive. "Fast forward to age 8 when I found out I was going to be a big sister. Enter Clara Lukasiak, my lil' sis and best friend," Lukasiak wrote. Lukasiak's family just wouldn't be complete without young Clara, who completely changed her life for the better.

Chloe Lukasiak's connection with one former Dance Moms costar runs deep

Though Chloe Lukasiak's days on Dance Moms are long over, the talented young dancer still created some life-long friendships on the show. At least that's true when it comes to one former Dance Moms costar, Brooke Hyland, as well as Brooke's sister, Paige, and Nia Sioux.

Hyland appeared in a 2019 video on Lukasiak's YouTube channel. In the video, Hyland and Lukasiak mainly talk about college, but they also touch on their friendship and how it has endured over the years. "I know for sure if I needed anything I could call you or Nia, Paige, but she's not here, and just rely on you guys," said Lukasiak in the video. Hyland added that they would probably be friends forever, even if they didn't talk every day. "We could not speak after this moment, and you could call me in ten years and be like, 'This boy was so rude!' And I'd be like, 'I'll be there in five minutes,'" she said.

Even though the Dance Moms cameras stopped rolling for them, Lukasiak and Hyland have remained the best of friends.

Chloe Lukasiak couldn't believe her level of fame from Dance Moms at first

Chloe Lukasiak boasts over 6 million of followers on Instagram and millions of YouTube subscribers as well. Suffice to say, she's gotten used a certain level of fame as she's grown up. But when Dance Moms first aired and Lukasiak was still a little girl, she truly couldn't believe how many people were watching her on the show.

In an interview with Glitter magazine, Lukasiak explained the shock she felt after the first season finale of Dance Moms. "The night the finale of season one aired, my mom and I were driving home and our executive producer called us and said 'Chloe' was trending #3 worldwide on Twitter," she recalled. "We didn't think it was me!" But it was her, and, after the smash hit that Dance Moms became, young Chloe Lukasiak would have to get used to people recognizing her.

Chloe Lukasiak was bullied on Dance Moms

Part of what made Dance Moms such an entertaining show was the constant fighting and bickering between the mothers of the dancers and the girls' instructor, Abby Lee Miller. But while the girls typically didn't fight or get involved in their mothers' drama, Chloe Lukasiak revealed that she was targeted and bullied by Miller, and it was a big reason why she left the show. "The reason for leaving the show was my old teacher mocked my eye very bluntly; I was dealing with some serious health issues," Lukasiak said in an interview with People

Lukasiak had silent sinus syndrome, as noted by Nylon, and she eventually had surgery to correct it, but the insults still hurt. "It didn't feel like it was a good environment for me to be in anymore. I don't regret what I did at all," she added in her interview with People. Lukasiak noted that she knows she made the right decision to leave the show when she did, explaining that it wasn't helpful for her or her mom to be around all those people at that time. Fortunately, Lukasiak moved on from Dance Moms, but, when she was on the show, it was a harsher reality than she could deal with.

Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak started a YouTube channel

Just as many other former reality television stars have gone on to have careers based mostly in social media (including basically every Bachelor Nation alum ever), Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak is no stranger to sharing her life with fans online.

On her YouTube channel, Lukasiak has over 2 million subscribers, and she posts videos multiple times a month. Lukasiak started her YouTube channel in January of 2010, and she's posted a lot of different content over the years. When she first started, Lukasiak posted videos of her dancing on stage and at rehearsals, and now she's more of an influencer. Her videos are vlog-style, with titles like "Self Care Routine" and "What I Got For Christmas," and they prove that Lukasiak enjoys sharing her day-to-day life with her fans. It seems as though being a YouTuber is just another thing that Lukasiak is great at.

Dance Moms was a huge part of Chloe Lukasiak's life

To say that Chloe Lukasiak had a complicated relationship with Dance Moms would be an understatement. Obviously, Lukasiak made friendships on the show, and she learned a lot — both about dance and presumably about how to conduct oneself around a tyrannical coach. But a lot of time, fans watching the show assumed there was more bad than good when it came to her Dance Moms experience.

In an interview with Seventeen, Lukasiak revealed that, when she learned Dance Moms was filming again, she realized she missed it. "I was like, 'Oh my god, I have to go see them. Dancing with them is such a big part of my childhood,'" she shared. "So I visited them at Nationals and it was so amazing." After that, Lukasiak decided to go back on the show for another season, and, though it wasn't permanent, it was clear that Lukasiak missed being around her dancing pals.

Chloe Lukasiak became more independent after leaving Dance Moms

If you've ever watched an episode of Dance Moms, you probably already know that, while the moms are arguing, the dancers tend to stay out of it. No matter how ugly things got, Chloe Lukasiak didn't really speak up for herself, even when Abby Lee Miller was harsh on her. But that was then. Now Lukasiak has become far more independent and is proud of the progress she's made.

"I've found my voice," Lukasiak told Teen Vogue in a 2017 interview. "I think I can stick up for myself in a way I never have before." Additionally, when asked how she's changed since leaving Dance Moms, Lukasiak said that she was "more independent," thought "not completely independent because you still need your mom at 15." Lukasiak might not have been super vocal on Dance Moms, but perhaps that's how she learned to stand up for herself, an important lesson to learn.

Dance Moms star Chloe Lukasiak has worked in fashion

In 2017, Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak announced that she would be launching a clothing line in collaboration with JustFab. The line launched in the fall of 2017, but, before it did, Lukasiak spoke with Teen Vogue about the line and why she wanted to get involved with fashion.

"I've always been very interested in fashion," she explained to the magazine. "It's been something I've liked all my life, and I get that from my mom." Lukasiak, who noted she's inspired by her sister's fashion sense too, added that her line will be a reflection of her, and, since she loves to be comfy, her collaboration will focus on that as well. "The line will be comfortable, very cute, there are some fun patterns that I really like," she shared. Even though her collaboration with JustFab was a one-time thing, Lukasiak was still excited about it, and it likely taught her a lot about the fashion business.

Dance Moms star Chloe Lukasiak's book was a big deal for her

In 2018, Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak got to add yet another shinning accomplishment to her resume: published author. Her book, Girl on Pointe: Chloe's Guide to Taking on the World, was released on Jan. 23, 2018, and Lukasiak couldn't have been prouder.

In an interview with People, Lukasiak explained what fans could expect from her book and how important it was for her to get her story down on paper. She also shared that there was some information in the book that even her most diehard fans might not know. "It's something really close to my heart," she said of getting to share her life with the world. "I've always been the self-proclaimed nerd of the group. I love reading and writing so this just seemed so natural and so right." Lukasiak is still young, but with the success of her first book, it seems that being a writer might just be the career path she ends up taking.

Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak started acting

Dancing might be Chloe Lukasiak's most well-known passion, but the blonde beauty has a lot more in her arsenal. In 2019, Lukasiak took her acting career to the next level when she starred in the heart-racing drama Loophole. Though Lukasiak had acted before, this was her biggest role she'd gotten at the time, and in an interview with Teen Vogue, she explained how hard she worked to get into character.

Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak explained that her character in the movie was very different than her. "She's a video gamer," she said. Lukasiak added that her character wasn't as into fashion as she was, either, so her costumes weren't all that exciting. Still, she enjoyed the chance to get into the role: "In the beginning, I was like, playing video games to get into character. I went back and picked up my DS and played Super Mario." That's some grade-A method acting right there! And though Loophole was a big gig for Lukasiak, with motivation and determination like hers, there's no telling what she'll do next.

Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak decided to go to college

Many celebrities and reality stars choose to forgo seeking a higher education in favor of putting more time and effort into their careers. It's a choice every celeb has to make on their own, but, for Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak, going to college was something she knew she definitely wanted. In a 2019 Instagram post, Lukasiak shared a photo of her posing in front of a Pepperdine University sign. In the caption, she announced a big life change to her fans, writing, "Ya girl is going to college!"

Since then, Lukasiak hasn't shared too much about her college experience, but she did take to YouTube to answer some questions and share what her area of study was going to be. "I'm going for creative writing," Lukasiak said in the video. "I'm definitely considering switching to marketing, and minor in creative writing," she added. Lukasiak explained that no matter what her major ended up being, she wanted to study and "involve creative writing" in at least some facet because it was one of her biggest goals to write more books.

This is the biggest lesson that Dance Moms' Chloe Lukasiak has learned

As someone who has spent so much of her life in the public sphere, Chloe Lukasiak knows a thing or two about doubting yourself. In fact, in an interview with Teen Vogue, she explained that learning how to be confident truly changed her life, and she hopes others can learn that from her.

"When I was on Dance Moms, I wasn't really confident in myself," Lukasiak explained. "I was always beating myself up, really critiquing myself." After all, her dance teacher was hard on her, so Lukasiak was hard on herself too. But Lukasiak has since learned that it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks when you're doing what you love. Confidence is definitely key, and Lukasiak also said that there's a difference between being sure of yourself and being cocky. She added, "You don't have to be arrogant, but you have to [be] confident." Words to live by.
