King Charles III has reportedly been fed up with Prince Harry and Prince William's drama for years. In fact, according to Harry's memoir, "Spare," Charles pleaded with his sons in 2021, right after Prince Philip's funeral, to put their differences aside and get on with it. As the Duke of Sussex recalled, the king gently reprimanded them, "Please, boys, don't make my final years a misery." Alas, William and Harry don't seem to have taken their father's words to heart, because the brothers' years-long feud is showing no signs of thawing, even after Harry and wife Meghan Markle's return to the U.K. in August 2026. Charles, however, has not given up hope just yet, according to sources.

"He will want to see his sons together over time," one insider disclosed to People in August 2026, adding, "The king would love to have Harry around." Another source confirmed that William definitely doesn't feel the same way, though. "It will be very hard for him and Catherine. There is a deep sense of betrayal," they explained. It doesn't help that the Sussexes apparently believe they haven't done anything wrong. The National Examiner reported that Meghan is open to rekindling her relationship with Princess Catherine, but she's not willing to approach the Princess of Wales with her tail between her legs.

An insider clarified that the Duchess of Sussex refuses to "beg" for forgiveness. "Meghan isn't going to grovel to anybody, least of all Kate [Middleton]," they asserted (via Express). Meanwhile, Harry has reportedly seriously ticked off William by staying silent as the grave over the allegations against the royal family in Charles Spencer's new memoir, "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister." Royal commentator Mark Dolan warned on the "Daily Expresso" podcast, "Harry's silence in regard to this book is an act of war."

The king is reportedly determined to make his sons put on a united front

Prince William might not want anything to do with his little brother, but King Charles III is reportedly one determined man when it comes to ensuring his sons can at least breathe the same air without being at each other's throats whenever he feels like putting them together in the one room. A source dished to Heatworld that Charles is determined to get them to put on a united front for the sake of the monarchy. "His Majesty would love it if they could genuinely make peace, but even if that isn't possible, he wants a public show of unity, and everyone within the family is aware of that," they said.

William and Kate Middleton reportedly can't agree on how to handle Harry, but a close friend told the Daily Mail's royal columnist Richard Eden that the couple is focused on continuing with their royal business as usual. "It makes no difference if Harry and Meghan are in Oxfordshire, California or Timbuktu," the friend reasoned. "William and Catherine will continue their lives of public service. They intend to lead by example." Heatworld's sources claimed Charles is planning on asking Princess Anne and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, to appeal to the Waleses and the Sussexes to make peace.

The Princess Royal will reportedly be tasked with handling Harry, while Sophie will try to sway William and Meghan. They have their work cut out for them. On the "Daily Expresso" podcast, royal expert Mark Dolan revealed that, according to an insider, "William effing hates his brother. [...][That's] not my language, but I think it's worse than ever." We wish Anne and Sophie the best of luck with this seemingly insurmountable task.
