Prince Harry & Meghan Markle's Desire For A Private UK Life For Archie And Lilibet Hits Scary Snag

Issues with privacy for Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, only seem to be getting worse. Mere weeks ago, a school snafu hinted that Harry's fears about privacy in the U.K. were coming true and prompted him to move Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to a new school. Now, it seems that their school change may not be making things any better. In fact, it could be doing the opposite.

Just over a month after Harry and Meghan made their move across the pond, it seems their privacy drama is only just getting started. Paparazzi were seen peeking into 7-year-old Archie and 5-year-old Lilibet's school. The duke and duchess called the two photographers' behavior an "unacceptable intrusion into the privacy" of their young children, putting "an extraordinary lack of judgment" on display, per the Daily Mail. "The decision by photographers to conduct themselves in this way around a school is extraordinarily reckless," they said. 

Of course, Meghan and Harry's cries for privacy have long been a hot-button issue. Yet, the couple found this even more concerning since it transpired just days after a suspected bomb incident at U.K. airbase RAF Fairford. "It is concerning enough that certain European paparazzi appear unwilling to respect the privacy of children at school. But to behave in this manner in these particular circumstances, and so soon after the incident at RAF Fairford, demonstrates an extraordinary lack of judgment," their statement said.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet had no time to settle into their new school before this incident. In a September 14 statement, a spokesperson explained why Archie and Lilibet were leaving their first school in the U.K. just days after starting there. "The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family's security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements," the statement read, per ABC News.

Evidently, the family has had a rough go of it so far when it comes to privacy since their move back to Harry's home country. This is certainly interesting, given that security in the U.K. was one of the main reasons the couple moved to the U.S. in 2020 in the first place. Over the years, many folks have had questions about Meghan and Harry's behavior surrounding security concerns. Considering just how quickly things have gotten out of hand since their return to the U.K., however, it certainly seems like their fears may have been founded, after all. Despite the drama, Harry and Meghan's U.K. return has had a silver lining: they have friends and loved ones to catch up with there. Even so, difficulty trusting that Archie and Lilibet are safe at school may be making them regret their move.
