The Truth About Taylor Swift's Boyfriend Joe Alwyn

While Taylor Swift's love life has often made headlines, things have been different with Joe Alwyn. Swift and the actor have kept details about their relationship under wraps as much as possible, which has only fueled speculation about the celeb couple.

Swift's relationship with Alwyn seems to be going strong. Like Swift, Alwyn is also a celeb, although he's not quite as famous as his internationally famous girlfriend. Still, Alwyn is an actor who has some pretty meaty roles on his resume. Per IMDb, Alwyn's first film credit was in 2016's Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, in which he played Billy. Other credits include The Sense of an Ending, Operation Finale, The Favourite, Mary Queen of Scots, and the mini-series A Christmas Carol

Alwyn was inspired to act after watching fellow British actor Ben Whishaw in a play. "I remember seeing him be Hamlet – I was 14 and thought, 'I want to do that...,'" Alwyn told GQ.

Joe Alwyn wants people to focus on his work, not his relationship with Taylor Swift

Alwyn is quite private and doesn't speak publicly about his relationship with Swift. "I'm aware people want to know about that side of things," he once told British Vogue (via People). "I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people... but I really prefer to talk about work."

Alwyn is quite dedicated to his craft. While he doesn't have many roles under his belt, part of that is because he's so selective in the parts he takes on. "Since [Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk], I've tried to make a conscious effort to find projects where, if there were supporting roles where I could learn and be surrounded by a great cast of actors and filmmakers and crew, then that was what I wanted to do," he told Esquire.

While Alwyn loves his career, he doesn't seem to be pursuing acting — or his relationship with Swift — for the fame. "Joe loves acting but doesn't want to be a celebrity," a source revealed to People.
