While the Hallmark Channel is primarily known for its extensive library of original made-for-TV movies — holiday-themed or otherwise — the feelgood network has also produced its fair share of serialized programming over the years. In fact, for over a decade now, the period drama "When Calls the Heart" has been a staple of Hallmark's lineup. Based on the book series of the same name by Janette Oke, "When Calls the Heart" premiered on the Hallmark Channel all the way back in January 2014.

At the time of writing, it has a whopping 13 seasons under its belt, effectively making series lead Erin Krakow one of the longest-tenured Hallmark stars in history. Mind you, Krakow herself has credited the show's dedicated fans, or "Hearties," with its impressive longevity. In any case, with a 14th season expected in 2027, we decided to take a look back and find out which episodes of "When Calls the Heart" are the very best of the best.

10. Follow Your Heart (Season 2, Episode 9)

"Follow Your Heart" brings "When Calls the Heart" Season 2 to an end on a rather tense note. The episode follows Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Jack (Daniel Lissing) as they return to Hope Valley with their relationship now on the rocks. Speaking of homecomings, Bill (Jack Wagner) also shows up, followed by his estranged wife Nora (Kristina Wagner). On IMDb, the episode currently holds a weighted average user rating of 8.6/10, while the unweighted average rating is 9.3/10. The vast majority of users who reviewed the episode, though, gave it an impressive 10/10.

9. Prelude to a Kiss (Season 1, Episode 12)

In the dramatic Season 1 finale of "When Calls the Heart," which is entitled "Prelude to a Kiss," Jack and Bill join forces to get to the bottom of the recent mineshaft explosion. At the same time, Bill and Abigail (Lori Loughlin) start to fall hard for one another. Meanwhile, Elizabeth finds herself at a crossroads as far as her teaching career is concerned. "Prelude to a Kiss" has a weighted average user rating of 8.6/10 on IMDb. It also has an unweighted average rating of 9.3/10, with more than 75% of all users who reviewed it giving it a 10/10.

8. Words from the Heart (Season 4, Episode 1)

"Words from the Heart," the Season 4 premiere of "When Calls the Heart" (unless you count the first Christmas special, of course), proves that maybe there is some crying in baseball. Elizabeth and Jack coach a baseball game, with the former helping one of her young players to overcome the lingering mental toll of a past injury. Over on IMDb, the episode holds a weighted average user score of 8.6/10. Its unweighted average score is 9.4/10, with 10/10 once again being far and away the most common individual rating.

7. A Gentle Heart (Season 3, Episode 4)

In Season 3's "A Gentle Heart," Jack and Elizabeth's relationship is seriously tested as a result of Jack's friendship with Faith (Andrea Brooks) getting a little too close for comfort. Elsewhere, Abigail works overtime to help the town of Hope Valley during its time of need. "A Gentle Heart" has a weighted average user score of 8.6/10 and a an unweighted average score of 9.4/10 on IMDb. Just under 75% of all reviewers gave it a 10/10.

6. Heartbreak (Season 3, Episode 6)

Sticking with Season 3 for the time being, the title of "Heartbreak" could not be more pertinent, as in this installment, Abigail is heartbroken when the aunt of the orphaned children she's been taking care of comes to assume custody and take them away from her. Without spoiling too much, though, you should probably watch all the way to the end. On IMDb, this is the third episode in a row with a weighted average user score of 8.6/10 and an unweighted average score of 9.4/10. It's also yet another example of perfect 10/10 ratings accounting for roughly three-quarters of all user reviews.

5. Having Faith (Season 12, Episode 11)

Season 12's "Having Faith" is by far the most recent chapter of "When Calls the Heart" to crack the all-time Top 10. Elizabeth and Nathan (Kevin McGarry) must do everything they can to take care of his son, Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich), while waiting for lifesaving medicine to arrive. As Hope Valley reels from LJ's diagnosis, some of the local kids decide a baseball game is just what they need. "Having Faith" currently holds a weighted average user rating of 8.7/10 on IMDb. Its unweighted average score is 8.8. Well over half of the users who reviewed the episode gave it a hearty (no pun intended) 10/10.

4. Heart of a Fighter (Season 4, Episode 10)

Up next is, oddly enough, another episode about one of the children of Hope Valley falling ill. In the Season 4 finale, "Heart of a Fighter," the life of Abigail's adopted son Cody (Carter Ryan) hangs in the balance as she's forced to make an impossible decision regarding his medical treatment. On IMDb, this installment of the beloved drama holds a weighted average user rating of 8.7/10, which would ostensibly tie it with "Having Faith." However, with an unweighted average of 9.3/10, it manages to pull ahead. Roughly two-thirds of users who reviewed the episode gave it a 10/10, too.

3. Prayers from the Heart (Season 3, Episode 8)

The Season 3 finale of "When Calls the Heart," "Prayers from the Heart," once again ups the peril factor considerably as a landslide threatens to claim the life of one of Hope Valley's own. The situation is so dire, in fact, that a planned exchanging of vows may just have to wait. "Prayers from the Heart" holds a weighted average user rating of 8.8/10 on IMDb, as well as an unweighted average rating of 9.2/10. As you might expect by this point, the Hearties who are active on the site gave it a perfect 10/10 more often than not.

2. My Heart Will Go On (Season 4, Episode 6)

Cue up the Celine Dion (or the New Found Glory, if that's more your thing) because the second-highest rated episode of "When Calls the Heart" is Season 4's "My Heart Will Go On." In this episode, as Jack reels from a recent tragedy, he must make a hard choice that could put his relationship with Elizabeth in jeopardy. She, on the other hand, may have an unexpected ace up her sleeve amid her efforts to get her teaching job back. On IMDb, "My Heart Will Go On" has a weighted average user rating of 8.8/10 and an unweighted average rating of 9.3/10. Perfect 10/10 ratings account for more than 70% of all user reviews.

1. My Heart Is Yours (Season 5, Episode 5)

Based on online reviews, Season 5's "My Heart Is Yours" is the single most beloved episode of Hallmark's "When Calls the Heart" to date. That's not especially surprising, as it features the moment fans had spent years waiting for: The wedding of Elizabeth Thatcher and Jack Thornton. Nearly 75% of all IMDb users who reviewed this installment gave it a 10/10. Meanwhile 7/10, 8/10, and 9/10 ratings account for an additional 20% of the vote. All told, "My Heart Is Yours" has a weighted average user score of 8.8/10 and an unweighted score of 9.4/10. Clearly, Hearties know where their hearts lie.
