Whatever Happened To The Twins Who Played Adam Stephens On Bewitched?
You may remember Adam as the youngest member of the Stephens family on the hit '60s TV series "Bewitched." Behind the role of Adam Stephens were not just one, but two actors playing the adorable little warlock. Twin brothers David Lawrence (also known as David Mandel-Bloch)and Greg Lawrence appeared in 17 episodes of the beloved fantasy sitcom between 1970 and 1972.
The show centered around the life of Samantha Stephens (Elizabeth Montgomery), her husband, Darrin Stephens (played by Dick York, then Dick Sargent), her mother, Endora (Agnes Moorehead), and her two magical children. Samantha and Darrin's firstborn child, Tabitha, was initially played by both Erin Murphy and her fraternal twin sister, Diane Murphy, until eventually Erin took over the role independently.
It's been more than 50 years since "Bewitched" came to an end in 1972, so what happened to the twins who played Adam Stephens? Though there are plenty of "Bewitched" stars we've sadly lost, the Lawrence brothers are some of the last surviving members of the cast. Now in their late 50s, David and Greg have spent most of their life out of the spotlight. One of the brothers is said to work in post-production now, while the other is a chef.
David and Greg Lawrence didn't keep acting for long after Bewitched
After playing Adam Stephens on "Bewitched" for two years, David and Greg Lawrence didn't continue acting for long. Greg doesn't appear to have any on-screen acting credits other than "Bewitched," while David has a few other roles in his portfolio. David briefly appeared in an episode of "ABC Afterschool Specials" in 1973, followed by an uncredited role in the 1976 TV movie "Victory at Entebbe." Both brothers appeared as guests on Vicki Lawrence's talk show, "Vicki!," in 1992, and David appeared as himself in the 2025 documentary "Bewitched: Behind the Magic."
"Bewitched's" Tabitha, played by Erin Murphy, briefly spoke in a 2014 interview with HNGN about the twins who played Adam. Murphy shared, "one works in post-production and the other is a chef." She also confirmed that she has kept in touch with her former TV brothers since the "Bewitched" wrapped.
It can certainly be surprising to see what some of these child stars look like today, and the same goes for "Bewitched" alum David Lawrence. More than five decades after playing Adam, David made a rare public appearance at the Hollywood Show convention in October 2026. A fan with a dedicated "Bewitched" fan page on social media was able to snap a selfie with David, seen in the photo above. The pic, uploaded to the Instagram account @bewitchedhistorybook, shows David (left) smiling for the camera while sporting a casual Bob Dylan T-shirt.
