The Truth About Eric Trump's Wife, Lara Trump

President Trump is well-known for hiring family members as staff, such as his daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner. Both are senior advisers to the commander-in-chief despite their lack of political experience. As it turns out, his generous hiring practices also extend to Lara Trump, wife to Trump's son, Eric and the mother of the couple's two children.

Lara is something of a new face in the President's orbit even if, as The Independent reports, she had a key role in his 2016 presidential bid (she was more active behind the scenes then, to be fair). But, considering how hard she's working to ensure Trump is re-elected, we can expect to see a lot more of her. After all, as it turns out, Lara is very comfortable in front of the camera.

Lara Trump has plenty of TV experience

According to The Independent, Lara started her career as a pastry chef but later moved into TV, working as an associate producer on Inside Edition on CBS. She later became the host of a weekly video series entitled "Real News Updates," about Trump's presidential bid. Her videos made frequent references to "fake news," a term coined by another Trump staffer, Kellyanne Conway, when she made an infamous reference to "alternative facts" in the early stages of the president's tenure.

Her work on the series certainly helped Lara ascend to the position of senior adviser to the Trump re-election campaign and, these days, she's presenting herself almost as the new Ivanka thanks to a down-home family life, as shown on Instagram, where she and Eric show off their family. She also, just like the president's daughter, gave up a blossoming career to dedicate her life to Trump, and naturally, she often posts about her unwavering support of the commander-in-chief.

Family is everything to Lara Trump

Lara and Eric are parents to two children, daughter Carolina, who was born in August 2019, and son, Eric "Luke" Trump, who arrived in September 2017 (via Town & Country). The two married in November 2014 at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. The president married Melania there back in 2006, so it clearly holds sentimental value for the entire family. All the Trumps were present and accounted for, with Ivanka acting as a bridesmaid, her daughter Arabella as the flower girl, Kushner as the officiant, and Don Jr. as best man.

According to Page Six, Kushner quipped during the ceremony to Lara, "You are not just gaining a family, you are getting 6 million Twitter followers." The bride wore two Vera Wang gowns, along with jewelry from Ivanka's line. Just a couple weeks before the wedding, she broke both her wrists in an accident, but thankfully it did nothing to dent the couple's happy day.
