The ACM Awards' Best Dressed Stars Of All Time

Sorry, Oscars; no offense, Grammys. If you love a good red carpet strut, there's just no better show in town than the Academy of Country Music Awards. Combine the drama and glamour you'd find in any star-studded collection of entertainers, and add a lil' country twang, and bam! You've got yourself a bountiful buffet of fashion to feast your eyes upon. With nominees ranging from the always-stunning Maren Morris to the ever-urbane Keith Urban, the 55th Annual ACM Awards may be one for the look-books. Still, previous dazzlers in 2019, 2018, and 2017, certainly give 2020 tough acts to follow. We can only hope that like Lady Gaga at the 2020 Video Music Awards a few weeks ago, ACM royalty up their fashion game by adding some mask drama.

So which country celebs are most likely to pull out all of the stops this year? Here's a look at the best dressed ACM stars of all time — we'll definitely keep an eye on what they're wearing this year.

Kelsea Ballerini was a prima ballerina in 2016

Songstress Kelsea Ballerini, who will be performing "Hole in the Bottle" at this year's first-ever Nashville-based show (per CBS New York), clearly was inspired by the "ballerina" hidden in her name with this stunning royal purple ballgown, which was designed by Georges Hobeika. She's up for Female Artist of the Year in 2020. Will she top her 2016 look and also become Most Fashionable Female Artist?

Kacey Musgraves was lovely in lace in 2017

Kacey Musgraves, also up for Best Female Artist, managed to look both edgy and ultra-feminine in this Marchesa mermaid in 2017. Despite its snug-as-a-glove fit, Musgraves said the dress had plenty of breathing room. "It's actually comfortable which is rare," she told Hollywood Life, compared to other tight dresses she's worn, where "you're sacrificing your breathing." The satin black choker ties the look with a bow.

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd were 2017's dazzling duo

Wondering who designed this gorgeous flowy emerald gown, worn by Maren Morris in 2017? Project Runway season 8 alum Michael Costello was the genius behind this fanciful frock. Getting to outfit such a fashion icon was a "designer's dream come true," Costello told Billboard. Morris, who is also a contender for the 2020 Best Female Artist award, sure knows how to accessorize; husband Ryan Hurd is as dapper as always in this retro blue plaid suit.

Miranda Lambert dominated the 2019 ACM Awards

Miranda Lambert showed the world who was boss during her performance at the 2019 ACM Awards, in this sequin-encrusted black bodysuit. Thanks to strategic cut-outs, she showed plenty of skin, and the bodycon fit displayed every curve. Not only was Lambert dressed to kill, but she was out for blood when she changed the lyrics to the song, "The Little Red Wagon" from "I live in Oklahoma" to "I got the hell out of Oklahoma" — a deadly jab at ex Blake Shelton

Taylor Swift was a winner in white in 2012

In 2020, Taylor Swift's most talked about fashion statement has been the white "nap dress" she wore in the recording of her new "Cardigan" video, but eight years ago, she wore a very different kind of white dress for the 2012 ACM Awards. It must have brought her good luck, because she won multiple awards, including Best Entertainer. The column dress with metallic detail and side-slit was by designer J. Mendel (per Time)... and as gorgeous as it was, probably would not have been comfortable to nap in.
